2006 Fall Semester OFFICIAL UPENN transfer Applicant Thread!!!

timberland, did u ask for an expedited decision from georgetown- i get the feeling the lady I spoke to at georgetown's admissions office was lying to me- I was like are admissions decisions out? and she goes no- andd I'm like I know a couple of people who've gotten their decision, and she goes, they prolly asked for expedited decisons- and I think that's a lie-
oh wells, she might as well as just told me they save rejections for last!

Bump, no- I did not ask for an expedited decision. They sent me a letter on the 28th of last month, it was my first decision; after hearing good news from them so ealry on I was confident in my application. However, since then, I have received a different rejection every 3 or 4 days (all Ivies). The 4 I've heard from so far have all said this has been the most difficult transfer year in their history- Brown I know has said the same thing, so I would imagine it will be the same story at Penn.

Okay, so what time does admissions come out tomorrow? I plan on sleeping all day and night until that time... lol... I hate waiting!

i'm guessing that
the decisions'll be sent out via
e-mail simultaneously at 5pm
anybody else wanna guess??

i'll say that the online decisions will come out at noon.

Wishful thinking: Midnight tonight. That would be just absouluuuuutely wonderful.

how many people do you guys think will be accepted for the college? 150?

gud luck timberland for penn!

steven16, i think the website says that they take about 200 out of 1200 to all of the four undergrad schools. but i don't think they specify the distribution.

Why doesn't someone check what time they released decisions for freshman applicants, I would imagine it would be the same since all the other schools have released transfer decisions at the same time of day that they have for freshman, most likely because the systems are the same. I know in highschool, people found out by lunchtime from Penn, so that is at latest 3 eastern time.

At this point I don't care. I got in to my top choice school and if I get in to Penn, then that's a waitlist spot opened for somebody :). GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

for freshman apps it was at 5 as well, i believe...although ED was at 3

Layla, congrats. i go to columbia, you will love it (i am transferring for personal reasons). but, trust me, there is life before NYC and there is life after, and there is no going back, it's amazing!

Thanks very much. Mind if I ask you some questions about housing? I'm really familiar with the campus (I lived there over the summer and my bf is graduating soon) I just need to know about dorms other than Carman and EC. haha

there's a waiting list for penn transfers?

well, i actually don't live on campus, i have an apartment in morningside heights. so i don't know that much about all the different buildings, sorry! i do know that if you are coming in as a soph, you need not worry about EC anyway because you need to get in there through an upperclassman and it's hard b/c those are the suites. but cu has tons of singles and double rooms attached through shared baths, which is nice.

Layla, does that mean even if you get accepted to Penn,
you won't go there?
If so, please tell them that you're not going As Soon As Possible!!
Thank you~ hehe~

Correct--If I get in, I will not go.

I guess all you Penn hopefuls got lucky that Columbia came out today...

If accepted to Penn, I will turn down Penn for Columbia.

Good luck to you all :)

Well I guess some of us should find out about Penn in the next 17 hours.
