Oh and btw, I'm a third generation legacy. haha.

You guys aren't applying against me, I get put into the legacy pile.

Don't worry. I go into the "auto-reject" pile. w00t!

william, Penn doesn't take EVERY legacy that applies.

^yes, that is true. I was playing around. I know my chances aren't great, but I am the second, my brother goes to Penn, third generation legacy with a former professor in my immediate family. My essays are excellent and I am submitting a photo portfolio that could get me into some of the top tier art schools.

How many 3rd generation, with a brother attending and former professor in family, applicants have you heard of being turned down?

I really don't know anybody in my situtation, so I don't have high hopes.

I have never talked to anybody who was a 3rd generation who applied to Penn.

i'm applying to SEAS ED

hoping for the best...Penn is the best. This board is stressful.
Byebye.

this board is very stressful, everybody's sat score seem to be above 700 in each section. thank go there is only a few hundred posting their scores and around 3000 more applicants who aren't using this message board.

ditto that.

i'm still not happy about my testing though, percentiles and extenuating circumstances notwithstanding

I hope you are right, that this is a unique population of posters because I just read the "ED decisions" thread from January 2005 and let's just say it did not make my day! If you are interested in being similarly freaked out -search the Penn thread for "ED decisions" and there's a thread from January 2005 that lists stats of admitted ED. deferred and rejected kids from this board last year.

I am actually a fifth generation legacy with an unbroken chain (though not all of them graduated and not all were undergrads) going back to the 1800's. I'm also a Philadelphia resident attending a Philadelphia feeder school. So booyakasha. I still think you need to be well qualified to get in. I feel like it could still be a toss up for me. I have high test scores but a lowish GPA.

There is no real difference between 3rd and 5th generation. Both are pretty great. ha. There are only four spots on the legacy form and the strongest way you can fill it out is: sibling, two Parents, grandparent.

But good luck man. What are your stats?

XIAN so you must have a relative who was born of BenFranklin and on of his many consorts??
