deferred from sfs... but here is all i had on my app

SAT I: 1490/2280
SAT II: 800 Math IIC, 700 Lit, 750 US History

President of Model UN at my school - we won the Georgetown Conference last year when I served as VP, and have won individually 3x

Attended JSA Summer School at Georgetown - won Best Speaker (1st Place) in the debate competition, as well as delivered the graduation speech

Recommendation from Howard Professor who regularly lectures at Georgetown

Sibling at Georgetown

Boys State Senate President (4th highest position out 900 participants)

Student Intern for Mayor

JV Basketball, 2 Years

Varsity Volleyball

Essays: Personal essay may have been weak, but felt very strongly about SFS

APs: 5 US History, 5 Lang/Comp

boscobabe, i'm gonna retract what i said earlier. i'm not "sorry" for what i said earlier. i honestly don't care that i got into georgetown, and i have little to intent of going there. ooooooooh so shoot me.
but really, that's the way life works sometimes. you work your ass off for a job. you're totally qualified for it. you want it real bad. and the guy next to you just kinda half asses it and it's ends up getting the job. he's not gonna give you his job just because you wrote him a letter. you didn't get it. deal with it. grow up.
i'm not gonna cancel my application. i've earned the right to sit in april with my stack of 10 acceptances and choose which school i want to go to. believe me, i deserve that.
sorry.

The irony is that the undergrad school you go to really doesn't matter half as much as you guys seem to think it does. A history major from Georgetown with a 2.5 is just about as unemployable as one from a state school with a 2.5. What matters is what you do once you enroll.

And to token, (are you black?), keep in mind you can only go to one college, so 10 acceptances isn't all it's cracked up to be.

*ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

wow, token, you dont need to be such a ****ing douche. Youve earned the right to apply and be accepted to schools, but no one has the right to be such a jerk to people who have been deferred from their dream school, a school you dont seem to give a crap about. I hope you choose Harvard or another ivy league that you are accepted to, because I dont want you to be my classmate.

lol AMEN to shapeofhome.

WOW this is funny!

token dont be an ******* about it. if u have little intent of going there, then withdraw ur application so someone who wants to go there can get in. yeah, im *ed about not getting in early, but im *ed for all of us who were deferred and really want to go there. u seen like the stuckup harvard type, so go be with ur own kind. if u want to sit around until april with ur 10 acceptances taking up spots of ppl who actually deserve to go there cause they want it, do that and be a douchebag. or have some class and realize "hey, im going to another school. why not let someone else have my spot?"
but i doubt ull do that cause u have no class.

"EA is about numbers only. High SAT (2300+) and class rank (top 5%) are pretty much essential, unless you're an athlete or have legacy status. RD is when they loosen up."

Just an observer, but, it also seems that there was an advantage if you didn't have class rank at all......

class schmass. hahaa.

token, i would like to point out that you seem to be convinced that everyone can go to hell because you earned this...

i get that ***** happens, but i would also like to point out that you enjoy the benefits of affirmative action and of being an athlete...

of course, i might be wrong. they could have just been won over by your awe-inspiring humility and your genuinely amiable personality.

^^^ Or maybe it's his awesome stats... a 3.65 GPA? What a badass.

shapeofhome...with you on that. totally.

deferred...

wherever i end up going to college token, ill be better than u in every way. im going places - u arent. especially being the dick u are. :)

*Extracurriculars:
They're pretty good. I don't really feel like making a list. :)

*ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
I feel kind of bad because there are probably people who want to go to Georgetown more than I do (please don't kill me) but I'm still really really glad that I've been accepted. It definitely boosts my self-confidence and I will definitely consider it when April and May come around. It's strange how knowing that a school wants you makes you want the school more. I'm just really surprised. I'm sure I had an advantage being from New Mexico, but my school doesn't have a great record with Georgetown and my friend who has better scores than me was deferred.

I really don't understand why i got deferred. I really thought Georgetown was a good match for me. Does anyone have any idea what my weak spot might be or what i should do to get in Regular Decision? Thanks
