I just got an e-mail from admissions basically telling me that I can come to NYU next spring if I spend my fall semester at their Florence, Italy campus. In this a thinly veiled rejection? Anybody know what’s going on?

johnupdike where are you now?

UVM (10char)

hi yeezy,

It is one semester each (total of 1 year as an exchange student), i have already spent 2.5 years pursuing my BA including this sem, targeting to transfer and complete my education end 2010,

I have been sending emails but i’m not getting a reply yet… thanks for the well wishes good luck all

rory19 i’m applying from london.

jchng4, that sounds great man, i bet it was a good experience.

yeah noone has heard from NYU in a while… anyone with replies, let us know!

jonupdike, what major did you apply for and at what college? i don’t think thats a rejection, you applied to fall 09 though right? actually i think spending a semester in florence would be pretty cool, it would be good exposure, then going to NYU in the spring, but thats just me i guess.

@JohnUpdike. That’s not an rejection letter. Cause there probably just out of room in whatever program you apply for, so instead of rejecting you, there sending you overseas. It’s pretty common for them to do it.

That sounds pretty awesome, IMO.

has anyone called in recently to ask about decisions?

Yeah I’m definitely not complaining, I just thought it was weird. I applied for a double major (pre-law concentration) in sociology and philosophy in CAS. They got my transcript from HS yesterday and just e-mailed me today, so… whatever, I’m excited! Good luck everybody!

What options did everyone get for housing?

I kind of want to call and ask for my decision. Any advice?

@damaja i got greenwich hotel, U court, 26th street and lafayette

I pray that those aren’t the only choices. Anyone get anything different than that?

has everyone thats requested housing gotten it? im worried about not being offered…

geb90 - housing is guarenteed for all 4 years

damanja I actually think thats pretty good for transfers… I heard people last year often had only two choices

Last year, they actually had 5 choices. They also had water street, which they have close down.

They’re all ****
