The Committee on Undergraduate Admissions has completed its review of Early Decision applicants to the class of 2013 at New York University. The Committee carefully considered the credentials provided in support of your application, and it is with real regret that I must inform you that we are unable to offer you admission.

Each year, NYU receives applications from many more qualified applicants than we are able to admit. This year, we received nearly 3,000 Early Decision applications, making it one of the most competitive years in the history of the University. Unfortunately, with so many applicants for a limited number of positions in the entering class, we simply are not able to offer admission to every student with strong credentials.

We sincerely appreciate the interest you have shown in New York University. On behalf of the Committee, I wish you every success in your future academic pursuits.

Sincerely,
Barbara Hall
Associate Provost for
Enrollment Management

coolant, are you sure you didnt accidentally select ED instead of transfer ? its probably easy to do and u wouldnt know the difference really, since they had about the same deadline etc ?

nop, i select transfer.. i just pulled up my application to verify. Besides I send in all my college trancripts so it won't make sense if i apply as ed

I will call them up to see what happen. I really hope there is another Anthony (that's my name) that applied for ED.

Love3qualsHate- you're so lucky! that's awesome that there is a big selection of classes!

i have another final today! ugh! i hope i get something in the mail from nyu today! hopefully the rest of us will all hear soon! it should not be much longer, right?

ritzbitz133- no! i'm sorry to hear that! i really thought you would get in. yeah, i am not too confident that i got in, i think that i will be seeing a rejection letter in the mail soon.

how did you find out about an information session in january? I haven't heard anything from nyu since my acceptance, I kind of feel in the dark at this point

coolant-good luck with your situation, keep us informed as to whether they made a mistake or not!

I didn't find out about it in the packet; the only things in there were the unit transfer sheet, a congrats letter, and a general info vthing. I called the lady and she told me but i fotgot the exact dates

I still have not heard anything. Being in NYC over the weekend, I was reminded of how badly I wanted to get in. Even with the 12 degree weather I experienced on sunday! Ah! At this point, I am fairly discouraged knowing NYU is too good to be true.

To those who got accepted, I envy you... truly. And wish you the best, and can only hope to feel what you all have been feeling since your acceptance.

EastCo22221- you and me both my friend! it's good to know i am not the only one still waiting!! it sucks not knowing whether i got in or not!
and also 12 degrees!!!!! omg! i have never felt that in my life! where are you from? the new york area?
