2010-2011 Elks MVS Scholarship

They are definitely adding names. All nine from my state are up. Unfortunately, dd is not among them. I’m pretty sure she made it TO the statejudging, as we got a rather ambiguous call a few weeks ago saying she made it to the “finals.” We haven’t heard anything else. I’m hopeful she will be recognizes at the local level, as it seems to me there are awards given at honors night for a local winner every year.

BTW, a big congrats to all who are state winners!!!

I made it to the National round and found out via letter, but my name isn’t up on the website yet, so don’t lose hope yet!

Hey, did anyone else who made it to nationals get info about the additional essay(s) and application stuff? I got a letter but I didn’t get login info or anything like that.

Where is everyone seeing this list of names?..

I’m from NY, and I found that there are 25 (shouldn’t it be even?) MVS winners each year, but then I went through and manually counted each entry that didn’t have a year attached (the indication that they are 2010-11 winners), and counted 34. I don’t think I made it to nationals, but that confused me a lot.

Has anyone from GA heard anything? I don’t see anything about GA 2011 Elks MVP winners on the site.

GA picks three per year to send to nationals. They are on the Elks site- look back a few posts to see link. Not a state winner here but hoping to get word soon about local/district. Best of luck!

oh i haven’t heard anything yet. so nationalists have received papers in the mail? im in ohio.

I got a letter in the mail today from Ct. Elks that I was awarded a $1,500 one year scholarship. I am really happy as I did not think I would qualify as my SAT’s were just average and I did not think my financial need score would qualify me for much. This is great. Every little bit helps. Good luck to all those still waiting.

Anyone know? I don’t want to miss the deadline or something.

Where can I find the list of finalists?

I believe the 2011 California winners are on this list. check out the names without years and with a comma in front. Son did not make it but was awarded $1000 by the district. Congrats to all the winners!

Well we finally got some news. We had to call the state chairman and wait a few days, then when the district guy returned the call I figured it wasn’t good :frowning: DS only made it to district and I believe there are no funds there. Who knows it is so hard to get any clear or accurate information… but anyway I think the Elk’s journey is done for my son. I am gonna follow all you national winners - hope you all win some of the big prizes. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

State and no further! (Did I already post this?)

I’m a finalist but haven’t gotten any letters or emails saying that I made it to nationals. I saw my name on the website with the comma and everything. What should I do? I’m in FL btw.

I talked to the Elks Foundation yesterday, they said the national winners would receive an email Monday, February 28th confirming their status as a national winner and it would have more information. They said only national winners would receive the email. Congratulations to you!

Ok thanks for the info. But didn’t everyone else get a letter too?

emails anyone?

same anotherindiankid. I’m from FL as well but I haven’t gotten anything yet from them other than a phone call about a month ago telling me i got up to states and that i am guaranteed at least $1,000

I still haven’t gotten any email. Anyone know what time its being sent out?
