2010 Horatio Alger Foundation Scholarship

^Yeah, me neither, and PA is gone. Luckily I entered the Franklin scholarship, so I have a little hope left in me.

Didn’t win National either but hoping I win Stae for Florida… Congratulations to everyone that won thpugh =)

So the state scholars are listed on the Horatio Alger site…of course I live in Ga and that is one of the states that don’t have the results up yet…called the foundation and they said that ga is one of the states that it takes longer to get the applications so it could be 2 more weeks before the recipients are notified…but good luck to all of you that can find out today!

I won a $10,000 Franklin scholarship!!!

So so excited. I just ran around my school telling everyone!

giftedgothic

Wow…$10,000…that is great…Georgia only gives $5000…I guess I shouldn’t say only because it would be great to get $5000…but congrats on the $10,000…be glad when they post Ga winners.

did they get rid of several state scholarships? i didn’t see washington on the list…

no national and no florida scholarship this year. :(

Thanks guys. Good luck to everyone else. For those of you who had your state eliminated, try and apply for everything else. Trust me. Dreams DO come true. This is a huge financial relief to me as my school only costs $13,400 a year.

Hey Guys! I just got this email saying that I was notified before and they were correcting an typo and I was thinking “What are they talking about???” Turns out, I was one of the state winners in PA…
Congrats to everyone else who won. Did anyone else get an email like I did?

^^I did. I got an email saying I won $20,000, but it was incorrect and I really won $10,000. :)

That’s good to know. Gifted Gothic, are you going to VF in April?

Yes, I am! I’m really excited to go. I’ve never been there before. I’ve been to Harrisburg once before, but it was literally only for a day so our marching band could march in a parade and then leave. I’m interested in how they’re going to get me there. I live really close to Ohio.

Are you going? :)

Yes. I can’t wait. I mean, I am already wondering what I ought to wear. I wish I had a schedule of events. Then, I could plan for any turn of events. I digress.

I live like 2 hours from Valley Forge, so I doubt it will be an issue getting there. I wonder why there aren’t allowed to be chaperones? At other scholarship things, I’ve heard of parents having to come along.

Anyway, my cyber school is based in midland. Do you know where that is? It’s a stone’s throw from Ohio. I thought that area of the state to be very nice.

And yes, I have come to terms with the more vain aspects of my nature. I am well aware that my clothing choices should be last on my list. However, I can think fast when I need to answer a question, just not when I need to choose a pair of shoes, okay? :-)

Congrats giftedgothic!

Ohboi-- thanks! I’m rooting for you for the Elks Scholarship. About one week until we find out the results of that one!

ag-- I totally understand what you mean. I’m gonna PM you.

I’m happy. I got the AZ one. $5000

AH! This is killing me. I’m a Georgia applicant, and I keep checking everyday. But they still haven’t posted the winners :(

I am a Georgia applicant too and I called about 3 weeks ago and they told me the list for Ga would be out in 2 weeks…LOL…called last week and they said 2 weeks.

Georgia winners are finally posted…I received an email today letting me know that I had received the $5000 Georgia scholarship!
