I happened to clean out my emails recently, and there were email exchanged between myself and D1’s GC. The email from me on May 4 at 9 am to ask her to call Cornell because I read on CC that Cornell was going to its WL. GC emailed me at 10 to let me know they were not ready to go to WL yet. At 12:30, the GC emailed me to let me know Cornell was offering a spot to D1.

In my experience, CC has been very accurate.

Not to say the reason D1 was admitted off WL was because GC called, but it couldn’t have hurt. But at minimum, you couldn’t believe everything the tell you.

Im sorry @derien, is it that insane to assume that during the end of the waitlist period they might be open on a sunday, Oh and also I live abroad so calculating the time difference I wouldn’t be able to call except early in the day… But I apologise sincerely

I also have questions on Columbia. I thought from past years they communicate via email, not phone call. But I could be wrong. I will try to clarify if possible.

SCEA was the school he applied to he lives in new York and got a call. if you don’t believe me I don’t care I have no reason to ■■■■■. He decided Not to take the offer however.

“Im sorry @derien, is it that insane to assume that during the end of the waitlist period they might be open on a sunday”

Yes. This is important and all-encompassing to you, but it is not an emergency situation where they need to open their offices and call all their staffers in on a Sunday. There’s nothing that can’t be handled in the context of normal business hours. You can certainly email on Sundays though :-)

I would not advise calling THEM on Sunday, but I am sure many admissions offices are open and working. I remember last year we were waiting for our table for our Mother’s Day celebration (i.e., on Sunday) when my daughter got a call that she almost refused because she did not recognize the area code. It was Yale admissions telling her she was off the waitlist. Since Yale had originally been her first choice, it made for intense discussions at the celebration table. She ultimately stuck with her May 1 choice, and now says she can’t imagine herself anyplace else (but that is another story).
