My son was accepted to NU three years ago and he declined through a professor that he had met there. I do remember looking through his acceptance package and not seeing any express directions on how to decline, so we let it pass. Sometime in June he got a letter from Northwestern stating that because he had not accepted, his acceptance was rescinded. He explained in an e-mail to the Admissions Office what had happended and heard nothing further. Didn’t want to burn any possible bridges to graduate school.

Adding Santa Clara and Wake Forest… S’s friends heard yesterday

I see that even though dartmouth is on the list, you are waiting for a more accurate confirmation. unfortunately, its hard to get any accurate info at this stage; just wait a few days and see if there are more people who claim to have been taken off the waitlist. or you can try calling the school. good luck!

According to U Michigan thread, a student was admitted from waitlist around April 27th.

Wondering if this is accurate…was told by admission c that they were reviewing wl this past weekend and would be notifying this week…can u confirm? Thanks

Yakeebelle, colleges always say they “just started” reviewing, but most start notifying some waitlist candidates a day after may 1st. Columbia said they wont send anything until May 15th, but thats not true now is it…

Does anyone know if Seattle University has gone to their waitlist? I was planning to call them tomorrow anyway, but it would be nice to know beforehand.

They also said there was a significant yield rise. There was someone on the UChicago forum who was accidentally put on the waitlist and was accepted a few days ago.

Adding Duke, according to posts on this forum and a post on the Duke Class of 2015 Facebook group.

My former adviser emailed them my recommendation and the admissions officer answered with that. They also said it’s unpredictable because the application count went up too.

adding Syracuse; and it looks like Emory is on round #2 according to its thread…

Thanks for the info! I’ll try to get my counselor to call them tomorrow, let’s see if she gets the same response… I’m worried they won’t go to their waitlist at all this year, which would be a shame.
