2011 SAT March: Writing

@fastsauce, it should be “BUYING new cars different from BUYING old cars.”

andrew, are you sure it shouldn’t be delete from passage? It didn’t seem to fit as the passage didn’t talk about new cars at all.

what was the trying to one? did you get an experimental section of writing?

I wrote about 16 and pregnant, Chinese censorship, and Brave new world to show that entertainment which poses as reality is actually fake, and that it is bad because it distorts the truth.

The prompt asked for something like “is the apparent reality in reality entertainment good or bad?”

lol no1 remembers pluto. maybe it was easy and i just overthought it… guess no1 else had trouble with it.

Wait im confused, so for the Teenagers buying cars section, I dont remember deleting anything…AM I WRONG?

it is not By separating from africa, madagascar… I think because it seems to put the action onto madagascar.

Can we get some more opinions on the used car section? Was delete the answer for the first question?

funstuff: I had math experimental… I dun remeber the question but I remember that one question had "trying at " sth and I knew it was wrong… I think it was the one with sth about “I and sophia?”

due to it separating… no?

I’m almost positive it was delete the “differences between new and used cars.” The entire passage was about used cars.

For the car one, I put “move before sentence [6?]”
I felt it was an appropriate transition/intro to the thing about lemons.

now which section was the experimental

Is it ok if I just used one example for the essay? I wrote about the biggest loser and how it changed my friend’s life after watching it (I made it all up) but I filled up both pages so do you think I could still get at least a 10?

@cheesecakke

Depends, but I’ve seen 12/12 essays with 1 elaborate examples, so you still have a chance

WAS AN ANSWER "DUE TO IT SEPARATING…the island has many new species?

For those of you who are complaining about the EASY Pluto question:

“In what has been called the triumph of science over sentimentality, Pluto has no been dubbed a dwarf planet.”

Was the question about Frank Sinatra “no error” also it was like he treated the long lasting album as the artistic and economic unit of his fame."

3.Did anyone get the question about “Whenever we take our dog, Sophie, to the park…” as no error?

I accidentally started my essay on the second page of the test booklet and continued to the first. Will they take off points because it was a good essay?

I got the same as you for the Pluto one.
Frank Sinatra one was experimental I think.
The dog one is also exp.

I think the answer was having separated…not sure though.

Yeah I put ‘having separated’ as well.
Best answer. ‘due to it’ sounds awkward compared to ‘having separated’
