Congrats to the winners :)

If you won something, can you make sure to include your region too? Thanks!

supine: I’m from NorCal too…but I think the entire state of CA is covered by one entity (California Writes)

@cherryli- I believe winners from the Midwest RAL have been emailed today…but they are probably still sending out emails throughout tonight!

@heartist, got it. I haven’t received any emails from them at all though, which makes me worry if my writing was received. /paranoia x100

@Rain202: Thanks! :)

I’m in the Northeast Region at Large, btw.

Hope you don’t mind a parent here. My 7th grade daughter in CA is also waiting (as I am) for results. Went to CaliforniaWrites facebook site, and their last entry was from 1/18, which read that they were just starting their final round of judging. Read here (erroneously?) that SoCal (which is part of CA region) has postponed notification until 2/7. I think that if they had notified the winners, they would have already put that on facebook, as they did for the 2011 contest.
No matter what happens, you should all be proud of yourselves for submitting something. In writing, it will either “click” with the reader or not. Not winning does not mean that it wasn’t great. Good luck and congrats to those who did win!

Thanks CheetahMom! I’m in California, too, and no email for writing. From the website, it sounded like they were going to email the Gold and Silver winners by today (by the end of January), and Honorable Mentions later (in early February). I think the person who said that notifications had been pushed back to 2/7 was talking about the SoCal art region, not writing. It would be so much less stressful if they just emailed everyone, even those who didn’t receive an award! But I haven’t heard of anyone in California who has gotten an email for writing yet.

@CheetahMom, that made me feel infinitely better, seeing as no one else from California quite knows what’s happening on the judging end. Thank you.

Yay, Northeast results are up on this little link on the side of the page. I was really hoping for Gold Key, but I got Silver in poetry and that’s good enough for me :)

I’m a senior applying to colleges this year and I’m wondering… should I report my Silver Key award to colleges? Is it something worth mentioning or is it not that significant?

Anyone know about NYC results?

I refuse to believe I didn’t win for writing in Norcal… :(

@andthelightsblur

Thank you! I am a mom. My daughter got an email this afternoon. She got a sliver key for one of her two submissions. But she has not heard anything about her another entry. She cannot believe her other entry will not win anything.

Are you sure that Midwest is still sending email throught tonight? So I will continue checking.

@NerdyAsianKid

Do you have other more prestigious awards than a sliver key? If you do not, then I think you need to list it on your application

I won a gold key for poetry in Region-At-Large.

Two gold keys (poetry + memoir) and one honorable mention (poetry; listen to people when they tell you not to submit rough drafts!) in Northeast RAL!

Has anyone in California who submitted for writing heard anything yet? I’m going to tell my sister to check her email when she gets home (we’re in a different time zone).

Five gold keys, two silver keys, and an honorable mention for South WRAL! It’s weird, because they picked all the work I personally didn’t find that appealing for the gold keys but didn’t even recognize what I considered my best work. Whatever, I’m just glad to have been recognized.

Congratulations to everyone who won something today! And for those of you who didn’t - remember, it’s their loss, not yours. Writing and art are very subjective things, so don’t be insulted. This is just one contest’s opinion.

Congrats to everyone on their wins! I hope that you guys come back here in March so that we can all (hopefully) journey to nationals together!:)

Omgosh!! It’s so exciting yet stressful at the same time to see everyone one CC who’s been so successful (and excellent at art/writing)!

So just to clarify… Is it true that California writing is delaying the results til Feb 7?

If anyone has won for writing in CA, please give us a shout out (so we can stop refreshing our email inboxes at ten-minute intervals!)
