Eggyham: @3min3m Hmmm UCSD is a long shot because that major is IMPACTED AS HECK…so I’d say you have a pretty fair chance of the schools you’re applying to. As long as it’s not impacted…you’re good…but try and get it up to a 3.2, 3.3 AFTER FALL. Good luck!!

–

That’s the problem. Mech E. / Aerospace is impacted just about everywhere. and with a 3.1 GPA (working onto raising it)… im not sure where I’d get into.

Hey! Hmm…your GPA is pretty darn good honestly…with a major like that. It’s difficult to have a good GPA with such a hard major. What GPA do you think you’ll have after Fall 2011? Winter 2012? I’m saying Winter 2012 because you can use those grades to appeal to some of the schools that reject you. What’s your top choice again?

to clarify im currently in a CCC, I don’t think i said that earlier.

My top “realistic” choice is CP Pomona. I would be ecstatic if I get it. Of course one could dream about UCSD/LA but that won’t get me anywhere.

I’m currently finishing up my pre-reqs. Will be done by the spring. If all goes well, I should have a 3.2-3.3 by the end of winter 2012.

If you’re going to have that GPA by the end of Winter 2012…that’s good. But make sure you do good this Fall…AT LEAST get it up to a 3.2. Don’t know much about CP Pomona…I don’t know what GPA they’d want for a CCC transfer. Oh and if you’re applying to UC’s and stuff, make sure you put a non-impacted major as your alternate major. Hope I helped.

No worries bud. my friend got in from a CCC with a Biology major and she had a 3.6. Write one heck of a personal statement! Because they sure do read it. by the way, are you done with most of your PRE reqs? BINGO and you’re TAP qualified. YES! Youre good to go!

@eggyham thanks. i see your with me on the ucsd transfer. hope you get in. hoping what you said is true on how 3.3+ have a better chance now that the tap applicants have dropped.

Of course. I go to a CC in San Diego! Your GPA is perfect for your major. My friend got into San Diego last year with Chemistry. Its surprisingly non impacted.

Hi guys! I’d like to know some opinions from you guys of my chance getting into UCSB.
GPA right now is 3.32, and I think the max I can get it up is about 3.40-3.45. My Calc class could be a trouble because I don’t think I can get an A in the class anymore, but very safe for a B.
I am applying for Economics and Accounting major. I will be completed with all the major classes along with GE’s this semester. I hear that UCSB Economics and Accounting is an impacted major, so I’m a bit concern. Do you guys think I will have a good shot?
