P.S.: I went to Cal Poly SLO first quarter of college after graduating high school and withdrew after first quarter because I didn’t like it. (Didn’t have AP so don’t worry about that. I made the choice myself). I believe that only one of the courses that I took that quarter could be transferred to a UC because the rest were major courses that they had AUTOMATICALLY signed me up for in order to get students out after four years. (Damn SLOs policy on choosing a major right in the first year coming in…)

sorry if you felt i was attacking you. I just thought you were mocking my statement that philosophy is “one of the least impacted majors.” I never said it was the least, and obviously a major that only has one to three applicants is not impacted -___-
I was looking for help and all you did was go on that transfer profile and looked for the lowest average gpa. That clearly doesn’t help at all, so I thought you were being sarcastic.

Hey @Bearterritory: You have awesome stats. I would say you’re 95% in at both schools…I bet philosophy at LA and Berk are impacted and usually people with GPAs like 3.78-3.79 get rejected on here. You’re good. Keep that GPA up! :)

thanks! Im kind of worried that I have no pre-reqs done till spring but I read on another post that UCLA’s philosophy major is not impacted at all and people with 3.3s get in all the time.

You’re welcome OMG YEAH! sorry. I remember seeing that too. Maybe it’s only Berk? Don’t worry. Even if you don’t I’d say you’re in. How many prereqs are you missing for la and Berkeley?

Just saw you have 3/4 prereqs done. You’re good no worries.

@Looking4Ward No. I was at 3.09 with 65 units. Having classes here and there will create very little change. Since I need to make my GPA more competitive, I took a lot of units in order to make a bigger “little change”.

@Acoustic Exactly. I am enrolled in two units. And Since a school’s max is 16 units, I was able to acquire 33 at one time, I applied for unit overload in one. I ended up dropping a 6 units because it was too time consuming and too late when I need to usually commute home.

lol Actually I got a really good professor this fall just for an easy A. She took the concepts of econ and explains them in mathematical way with out telling us what does it mean. I ended up getting 98% on both test worth 25% each, but I don’t understand what does it mean LOL. Basically, I just solved the math problems with out knowing what does it apply to the real world. I passed the class with an A with out trying due this reason. So fierce, and I’m not sure if i can handle upper division econ courses.
