It should be down until 6M, are you trying it now?

I can’t access housing and I don’t see a UCLA email address, just my normal one. :

UCLA email does not mean anything.

@ HopingToXfer

Good, because I didn’t a UCLA email address.

Just for the record, in previous years those acceptance hints didn’t start working for most of us until just a few days before the acceptances were due out. There’s still about 2 weeks until the admission decisions for UCLA are scheduled to be released, so I wouldn’t be expecting anything at this point.

So, no you haven’t been rejected yet just because you couldn’t see your financial aid package two weeks early. Patience guys, they’re almost here.

These tricks are like reading tea leaves. lol Just wait it out, you guys.

Hear hear, Opaque.

So I get that having a UCLA email address doesn’t mean anything, but does anyone have any ideas for why I have one? When I checked a few days ago, the website was still showing my normal yahoo email address and now it shows a UCLA one. I haven’t messed with all of the summer session stuff or anything, so I don’t get what happened.

When I click on: Undergraduate Housing Application: Apply for on campus housing and undergraduate University Apartments.
I get a list of the 5 steps to take in order to get housing.
When I click on the family housing the app comes up and asks me for a preferred move in date.
Not sure if this is the section I am supposed to be looking at.

^ I’ve been able to access the housing since the decisions page was made available about two weeks ago. It’s not indicative of anything. Next thing you know, you guys will be seeing a Jesus on a burned tortilla and take that as a sign of “OMG GUYS AM I IN??? HIS FACE ON THE TORTILLA MEANS I’M IN, RIGHT¿¿¿¡¡¡”.

I was just curious if that is what people are talking about? The investigation part is a fun way to distract the mind from the long wait.

All I can say about this is to each his own. Let people speculate if they want to. @Opaque, clearly you’re letting other people’s actions get to you haha. Calm down dude.

@xcballin: I’m all right. lol I was joking around.

I think UCLA has really stepped up their game as far as letting decisions leak out. If anything, some of these tricks may work, but on the day of the decisions, letting you see whether you’ve been accepted or rejected a mere few hours before the decisions are posted.

Hi guys,
I’m new to CC and I’m happy I found this thread !
I have been looking for a recent one on Transfer ‘tricks’ for the last 3 days.
I can’t really see much of anything now except for the Document Tracking on MyFAO. I was also able to apply for a bruin card.
I’m going for Comm Studies with a 3.75 Overall GPA and a 4.0 Major GPA.
Good luck everyone :)

Too bad UCLA’s system doesn’t work like Davis’ system. They made it too easy to figure out whether or not we got in… and it’s all in real-time too (no need to wait a few days before admissions come out). :)

@cwtina1234

I can see the document tracking for financial aid, and apply for bruin card, have to pay 30$ to submit for single housing (obviously didn’t pay).

No UCLA e-mail, still my gmail.

I guess it doesn’t mean anything, but 4.0 overall GPA bizecon w/ TAP.

@Eviity of course this is speculation, but I imagine that the ability for you to proceed with the single housing is indicative of admission; then again, I think your gpa and TAP alone are also indicative of admissions haha.

I get the unsure of enrollment message when trying to access the single housing application, and I know almost 100% I’m rejected from UCLA. I’m an political science intercampus transfer applicant from UCSC with a 3.98 overall gpa, 4.0 major gpa. BUT, when Contacting UC’s a prior to applications to make sure my courses satisfied all the school pre-reqs, every school with the exception of UCLA let me know I had satisfied their pre-reqs. Berkeley made me come in person to speak with an admissions rep and major adviser, to whom I submitted the syllabi for my classes in question, and about a month later the adviser let me know my classes satisfied polisci pre-reqs at Berkeley. UCLA, on the other hand, was able to let me know within minutes over the phone that of all the polisci courses at UCSC (major is called politics here) only ONE satisfied any major pre-req at UCLA. So, though I have taken courses in all the required fields for UCLA, I only have 1/4 pre-reqs satisfied for them since none of my other classes count. I asked the admissions rep at UCLA if I’d be negatively affected by this since the pre-reqs are not offered at UCSC and was told that other applicants with all pre-reqs completed would be “much more competitive” than me. He spoke with an admissions adviser and said that she suggested I simultaneously take classes at CC to fulfill pre-reqs, which I did not do since Berkeley is my target school and I’d likely not go to UCLA even if I got in, though there is a slight chance I would. In any case, I get the unsure of enrollment message and I’m nearly 100% sure I’m going to be rejected because of pre-reqs.

tl;dr I get the unsure of enrollment message and, due to lack of pre-reqs, I know that I will very, very likely be rejected by UCLA.

Excuse the mechanical errors above (ie “an Political science,” random capitalization of letters, etc.) since I’m posting this on my phone while on my way to sf with friends…so not too focused right now haha

I think we are all in the same boat right now!
When I read previous threads, there were 3 indicators for acceptance:
- Being able to view your Financial Aid Summary
- Seeing ‘App not available’ is better than ‘unsure of enrollment status’ for housing application.
- Seeing your major and admit on my-UCLA when you log in.

@Eviity Are you able to get past the part on the Housing application after selecting “single undergraduate student”. When I click submit, I get the message “unsure of enrollment status.”
