hopefully we will find out before MAY, so I can make housing arrangements

More than likely you won’t find out before may I talked to admissions bc I’m applying for summer ill find out in mid-late April n fall will be may

I was told they start sending out acceptance for transfer sometime in April. And from previous threads , others heard back around the same time too

do any of yall know how the appeals work? the woman at admissions told me the deadline to make an appeal was may 1st but if we don’t get our acceptance letters until may i don’t see how that would work. if I don’t get in i’ll definitely want to make an appeal

I know a girl that got in with a 3.1. She did have a son story. Her dad was sick and she took care of him, etc… But anyway, lower g.p.a.s do make it in sometimes especially for the College of Education. I am applying with a 3.74 and I am still super worried, can’t help it. Just hang in there and good luck to you.

Meant *sob story

I know it is a bit early, but has anyone gotten a decision yet?!

I am getting a bit anxious. From the research I have done, I haven’t seen anyone hear back before April 9th :[

I know how you feel. we all are very anxious. I can’t wait for the middle of April to be here

I’m sure that I will have to wait until the middle of April, but I REALLY hope I don’t!

How many of you received an email about the Terry Scholarship? I received an email from osfs at UT stating that I have met their preliminary eligibility requirements and that I should apply for the scholarship. I know of one other person who received the same email. I also know of two people who did not receive the email. I’m wondering if this means something else…

I got an email the Terry Scholarship too. I didn’t know it wasn’t sent to everyone, so that’s news to me. I just assumed it was a general announcement to all transfer students.

I think, though, that it doesn’t necessarily mean that we’re admitted. Just that the info provided with our application and FAFSA (income, number of transfer credits, etc.) makes us qualified to apply.

I need to call today and ask them if I need to do the application twice because I was already accepted into Texas State, and if I don’t get accepted to UT, I’ll be going there. I got the email about it from Texas State, too. So I’m wondering if I need to send my application to each school, or just once and it’ll go to whichever school I end up at.

@ablindwatchmaker I received this email too about a week ago. I have no idea what it means though. May be it’s because of our GPAs?

I got terry scholarship emails from a&m and then got accepted. Havent gotten anything from ut though… hope theres no correlation :(

I assume that only one application is required. If I remember correctly, the application asks about the other schools to which you are applying, and that seems to indicate that you only need to fill one out. I’d definitely call though.

One of the students I mentioned received the maximum pell grant amount; the other student received a partial grant.

Also, all of the student’s I’ve mentioned have 30 or more hours completed. Only one is still finishing up a business cal sequence for mccombs, so maybe those kinds of factors can affect whether or not you receive an email. People who are still waiting on the completion of prerequisites won’t find out for a while.

It’s possible that our GPA’s have something to do with the email. The 2/4 of us (people I know) who received the email have GPA’s higher than most of the others transferring. The others have average or slightly lower than average GPA’s relative to the other transfers.

I think we can safely say that the correlation is tenuous at best lol. Don’t worry too much.

I currently have 53 credits (68 at the end of the semester, although 3 of those are remedial math), a 3.88 GPA, and I receive Pell.

So I think you’re right that it really doesn’t have much to do with admissions decisions and has everything to do with income, credits, and GPA.

You’re probably right that I only need to fill out one, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. I tried calling the finaid offices of both schools, but they both had super long hold times. After 20 minutes waiting for UT to pick up, I had to leave for class. I’ll probably try again in a minute. :D

More than the scholarship though, I really wish we could find out about our admissions. I need to be making some decisions soon, and TX State only took two weeks to accept me. It’s driving me nuts! It’s April, though, so it should be any week now!
