2013/2014 Fall Transfer Thread

can anyone else not access their status update page?

I got denied from Education today, 3.53 GPA. I will be reapplying for the spring. Not giving up. Should I even try to appeal? My grades for this semester was not calculated in because I had the min required credits to apply.

@acceptmeut, are you an in-state resident?

Has anyone else who applied for summer not heard yet?

@uttransfer28 Yeah, I applied for summer and have not gotten a decision yet.

@coolcat what major?

@uttransfer28 Psychology, you?

@coolcat 1st choice education 2nd choice COLA undeclared

I feel like COLA is taking forever :(

@uttransfer28 Do you find it as annoying as I do that we haven’t gotten a decision yet but people that applied to the Fall semester with the same majors as us have gotten their decisions?

I haven’t gotten my 30 hours yet, but when I do I’ll be hovering around a 3.7-3.8. From what people have heard so far am I looking good. 1st choice: Cockrell: Mechanical 2nd: COLA: International Relations

@coolcat yes!! It is very frustrating! Have you called to see when we might expect our decisions?

@uttransfer28 I called a few weeks ago and admissions told me basically what everyone else has been saying. That we should be getting a response in April or even early May. They also said that Summer and Fall admission decisions are done together so its not like one goes before the other.

I’ve decided that if I don’t get a decision by Friday I’m going to call again and see what they have to say. And to just make sure its normal that we haven’t heard back.

I think its kinda ridiculous because what if people need to move to Austin in order to take summer courses, they’re just expected to find a place to live like a week before summer classes start? lol

I’m fine cause I live in San Marcos now but you think they would take that into consideration.

I haven’t heard anything in regards to my summer application either.

I did see online a few days ago that if admitted, registration for classes are June 4-5 and classes begin June 6.

My guess is that if we are admitted, things are going to happen real fast once we find out.

Good luck to you all.

If you guys need a place for the summer, the co ops stil have plenty of space.

REJECTED. So I am attending SMU.

I was recently rejected from McCombs but got into CNS for Computer Science. Does anyone know if there would be a chance of getting a change of major request granted if I try getting into McCombs again? (using the change of major link they have on the application status page)

I’m a little afraid to use it because they said you’re only allowed to request a change of major once after being admitted!

@theuglyone What was you gap like if i may ask? Also i doubt you would have success utilizing that method. your best bet would be to look to transfer into McCombs after a year in residence via an internal transfer.

@Lanvinboy14, my GPA is around a 3.88 (currently a 3.9 after winter quarter grades were posted up, but these grades weren’t on the transcript I sent to Austin).

I was guessing my best bet would be to internally transfer like you said, but I don’t want to spend more than 2 years there because I’d be paying out-of-state fees! :(

I really do want to go, though.
