2014 Chancellor's Scholarship Interviews

He submitted it January 27 and received the letter February 22. He got his acceptance letter and invitation to apply for the scholarship around January 10 or so.

I have to admit that I was relieved to find no letters from Pitt in the mailbox today. My son sent his Chancellor’s application in at the end of December.

Son informed today via regular mail that they “are unable to invite him to interview.” He submitted the scholarship application around December 15. Too bad, because he would have had a stellar interview.

Sorry to those who have heard that you were not selected for an interview. I was wondering if the status of your / your child’s application still says “in progress”. Another day of looking in the mailbox with trepidation here in NH.

@GraniteStateMom - His status still says “in progress” even though he received the letter stating that he was not selected for an interview.

My son is also still waiting to hear something. Submitted application end of Dec. I also am curious if anyone else has received a letter in the mail or an acceptance email.

My son just got an email inviting him to interview - exciting news! Online status still shows “in process”

Yes, email invite at 10:00 a.m.

10:07 a.m. EST (to be exact)

E-mail for interview came today, too. Very excited here.

Ok, so the inevitable question… Any idea how many get interviewed and how many are accepted?

I have not heard either way; should I assume that it is a no for an interview?

My son has not heard either way either. Hmm…

congratulations to you all. that’s great. both of them, 3tallblonds?

Congrats to all that got interviews!

As far as I know (son not home from school / work yet), he did not get an e-mail today and has not yet received a letter saying that he was not chosen as a finalist. The waiting continues…

I emailed them today, and they are still reviewing applications and I should know in a week. So nervous.

Thanks for the update @rlw329 . Looking through previous years’ threads, it looks like some years students were notified (either way) all at once and other years, it was spread out over a few weeks. Not sure what to expect at this point.

As far as how many students are selected, it really varies. Here the list of recipients:
http://cscholar.honorscollege.pitt.edu/recipients

THANKS for the list TitanMom16!

@TitanMom16 I think it’s also possible that the committee awards the same number of Chancellor’s scholarships each year, but the number of students who actually attend Pitt varies. For instance, students who choose Ivies over Pitt despite the scholarship would alter the yield rate between each year.
