2014 Chancellor's Scholarship Interviews

I read on a prior thread that schools expect a yield rate of 40% or so for scholarship offers of this type. This would suggest that upwards of 25 scholarships are offered to get a yield of 10 - 12 students enrolling. No idea if this is correct or not, just a guess. The kids that are competing for these

my post got cut off - sorry - The kids that are competing for these scholarships will all have attractive offers from multiple schools.

That is probably true that not all who are offered Chancellor’s accept!

Has anyone heard anything recently? I am still waiting to here either way.

Nothing here, by mail or email.

My son got a letter in the mail from Pitt this afternoon. I haven’t opened it, but I am guessing it is “thanks for your application but we are all set letter.” That will suit him fine as he has pretty much decided to pass on Pitt. Best of luck to those still waiting to hear and those interviewing soon!

I emailed them on 3/6 and the response was that students would hear from the University Honors College by 3/21.

Son’s letter did, indeed, inform him that he was not selected for an interview. 15 minutes later her got accepted to WUSTL, so all is good in our house. Best wishes to all!

I received a letter yesterday informing me that I was not selected for an interview. Good luck to those who were chosen for the next round, and I hope things work out well! As for me, I’ll still be considering attending Pitt since its neuroscience department is quite reputable, and a full tuition scholarship isn’t exactly chump change.

The kid received an invitation to interview. We are pleased and proud. :-)

@ridethewave When did your kid submit their scholarship application. My daughter submitted hers the middle of December and we haven’t heard anything yet. Did the invitation arrive via email? Thanks

@rnake123… we have 2 Ds. One got invited a few weeks ago, one got invited today. Both arrived via email. That seems to be about the same time differential we saw in the scholarship awards. I think they applied roughly at the same time though.

congrats to the interviewees, esp 3tall’s double-header, and condolences to those of us who’ve been denied an interview.

It was email notification, and I do not remember when the application was submitted. I think it was late December or early January, but that time period is a blur, you know?

Congrats to all with invites to interview!

Offered an interview by email today. Submitted the Chancellors Scholarship application at the very end of December.

Congrats to all who have interviews!! Thanks for the info. We will continue to hold onto that glimmer of hope.

Received an offer to interview today!!! I had pretty much given up hope since it was so late. I am very pleased and proud! :)

Son received a letter in the mail today saying he was not invited to interview. At least now we know.

Got an email about it on March 13th too. $500 imbursement so enticing, wondering if I should treat my parents to a great dinner or lunch at Pitt’s expense :stuck_out_tongue: since I saw someone wondering, I submitted my chancellor’s scholarship app early February
