So what are ya’ll going to do for the next few days to distract yourselves? Focus on the usual, or what?

Tomorrow, we’re doing speeches in Academic Decathlon, which I’m excited for. It’s also my friend’s bday, so we’re going to have brownies for everyone. :] (I’m going to help some other friends make them today.)

On Tuesday, I’m going to get pumped for the last So You Think You Can Dance performance show of the season. Then Wednesday, I have another AD meeting before making rice krispies treats with someone for a beloved teacher of ours. Aaand the SYTYCD results show. Somewhere in the middle of the results show, I’m going to check my decision. >0<

I also have some other stuff to do (like preparing stuff for mock trial, finishing my last 4 college apps), but those are not the exciting things so whatever. :p

Soadquake: I have a friend who attends MIT who has confirmed this!

CC Lurker: I’ll be working on more college applications, running around trying to get/make meaningful gifts for meaningful teachers before Christmas break arrives. I don’t think I’ll be one of those who sit at the computer refreshing the myMIT page. It is Christmas after all - the season’s about enjoying oneself, celebrating, and not worrying about anything else.

I’ll be working on schoolwork, mostly. I also have band concerts tomorrow night (school band) and Tuesday night (community band). Any extra time will probably be devoted to sleeping/knitting/cleaning. :)

I finished my major workload for the year yesterday.

I’ll probably be trying to figure out my my electroporations aren’t working at the lab, and stress about that for a couple days. I also need to get gifts for my teachers who wrote me recs (any ideas?). I have 2 more finals to do, so I’ll have to study for those and finish my Shakespeare paper. Then there’s my other 6 college apps I have to finish this week.

I think I’m going to be freaking out come Monday when my other EA decision is released, but after that, I’ll just be wasting time on my laptop until Saturday when I’m hoping to get the tube/confirm my deferral.

@kitkatkkatie: Chocolate is always a good gift. P: I just gave mine cards with a nice message/quote inside. I also promised them to email them right after I get my decision.

I’ll also probably work on college apps. Also, I’ll probably be stressing about the surveys I need to have approved, distribute, and have back by Friday (They’re for my school’s GSA/my research class. Their purpose is to measure the climate/bullying in my school. I’m quite proud of them.). I’ll also probably have to debate/prove wrong a district who is kind of barring me from joining their robotics team (long story. >.>). But yeah… busy, busy.

Chicago is probably going to release Monday (then again, they refuse to tell us anything… but it looks like Monday at 4pm eastern).

@valid

Thanks. I was thinking about that, but I live in a really health-conscious city and most people are into counting calories. That said, they’d definitely accept it, but I know it wouldn’t be the best… I was thinking about making a music mix, but 2 of my teachers aren’t into that sort of thing.

I think I’m going to bake something for my counselor and make music mixes for my teachers. One of them likes “folk music that’s a little messy” any suggestions?

Do they really send the tubes much later? And do they send out letters if you’re deferred or rejected?

hahaha Maruhan. I’m going to run upstairs to my computer during commercial break or something. Are you rooting for anyone in particular? I’m hoping Russell will win…

Kitkatkatie, why wait? Check online with us XD!

lurker, if it’s going to be until christmas that tubes come, then I’m looking online.

I’m pretty prepared for deferral, though. I had some bad grades recently (personal issues explained in my app), and my EC pretty much told me to be prepared for a negative. He’s a great guy, huh? I’ve done a lot to strengthen my app, though. I just wish I could have gotten it submitted for EA…

Are you guys really that confident?

And I love kaki king, too, Valid. I never knew where to start with ani, though. she has so many albums!

I don’t know if I’m confident, but I am optimistic. That’s for sure. Do I have any right to be optimistic? No idea. :o

Your EC doesn’t sound that friendly haha. But how would he know? My EC didn’t have any info about me other than what I told her during the interview.

Man, I have to be studying for finals… ><; I guess it’s a distraction, but… to be perfectly honest, I would be much happier to spend that time on the internet/CC/facebook. It’s so hard to concentrate as Wednesday gets closer.

Here’s a general question (I think this is the thread where someone was talking about being an NM Semi?): If as a NM Semifinalist we put MIT as our first choice on that thing we filled out, will MIT know? And would it matter?

I’m not confident, just hopeful. I feel like my app was strong, my recs (especially one) were strong, and my interview was really strong. I’m fully prepared for deferral though.
