2014 MIT Early Action Countdown Thread

@Katie, haha, yeah. Emory is most probably where I’m going. I don’t really think I’m going to be accepted into MIT or the ivy leagues, so after that is Emory on my list. and hmmm, I never even considered UChicago. I hadn’t really heard of it, and I live in GA so Emory’s right by for me. The thing I’m most worried about though is that I’ve heard that a lot of people at Emory are just plain snobby, but of course, that’s just hearsay.

Agh! I hate the fact that it just all seems like all luck now! I wish there was like just a set process or something, idk. :(

24 hours!

It’s the final countdown!

Ahhhhhhhh

24 hours!

:O !

*cue final countdown music

I wish I could forgot about it, but my school is small so literally every person I saw asked me about it. It’s impossible to forget @_@

@An0maly: same here, the pressure is tremendous.

i’m having the same problem. everyone in my school thinks I’m guaranteed to get in so they keep asking me about it. they don’t seem to understand a 10% acceptance rate

same. like just because youre the smartest in the school does not necessarily mean that you will get into mit or other prestigious schools (ivy). the smartest kid in my school got deferred from his top school

I’m in exactly the same boat as you guys. The pressure’s starting to get to me

exactly. I just hope I get in and then i don’t have to keep telling them that my chances aren’t that good :)

einstein said: “An hour sitting with a pretty girl on a park bench passes like a minute, but a minute sitting on a hot stove seems like an hour.”

anyone else feel like they’re on a “hot stove” right now with the amount of stress+anxiety?

Do any of you know if coming from a state like Mississippi or Alaska is helpful in getting admited to MIT?

Just curious.

“anyone else feel like they’re on a “hot stove” right now with the amount of stress+anxiety?”

I feel more like I’m underdressed and in sub-freezing weather. No intense pain… but the uncomfortableness is there

I totally relate to all of you. Everyone has been asking me about MIT all day. It’s very stressful and I’m feeling the pressure…

My son seems very calm and I am going crazy. I hope original music will help his chances.

@Student10000: definitely, MIT is looking to draw students from all over the U.S. to diversify, and underrepresented states like mississippi and alaska certainly fall into that category.

My son said he was applying as a minority. I said you can’t do that. He said sure I can, I’m a Southerner and Southerners are a minority in the NOrth! Hope yall don’t make fun of his accent.

@An0maly: Definitely feeling pressure as well. I go to a pretty small school, too. My school’s graduates always get into top notch colleges, so pride most certainly plays a role for me.

Eek, less than 23 hours.

I can’t believe it! We have less than a day guys!!
