@baethoven16 how do you know when the interviews are?
They gave us a timeline when we first applied in October. I just put all the dates in my phone.
Is there any chance we will hear over the weekend or just wait until monday?
@APersonsHistory I wouldn’t hold my breath for the weekend
Wait until Monday, and if anything comes sooner then that’s just icing on the cake
Just got an email. I’m a regional finalist!
I am too. I can’t even believe this.
I didn’t advance Good luck to the rest of you though!!!
YES!!! I am too - Best news before the weekend!! Have any of you been accepted to colleges yet? If so where?
@KickingBear and @bubsbubbles did you have to log into semi-finalist portal to see your decision or did your email say you were a finalist?
@KickingBear Cornell University right here. Under early decision plan.

@codeit one time, i believe
Hola. 2015 Coke Scholar here.
Copy/pasting the advice I gave in PM:
I’ve heard different things from different Coke scholars, but my interview was pretty chill. Didn’t ask anything about my lists of activities; mine were entirely essay based (though my essays did go pretty in depth into some of the activities, so that’s probably why). I’d be prepared to talk about your feelings towards whatever you wrote in your essays in greater depth, and be sure you’re comfortable explaining (without sounding like you’re selling your soul/being big-headed) how you would be an asset to the Coke Scholar network/foundation.
Also – do not do your interview via Skype if you can avoid it. It’s worth whatever the expense of a train ticket/bus ticket/etc to the nearest city, if that cost isn’t too prohibitive for you. I took the Amtrack a couple hours to Philly, and it was definitely worth it. Some Scholars later mentioned that they were convinced they’d missed their shot at the scholarship because their Skype interviews cut out/experienced other technical difficulties that made it awkward. (However don’t freak out if you can’t do anything other than Skype! The option exists for a reason, and Coke has no preference. You’re the one that should have the preference. But some people just can’t get to an in-person location, and that’s ok: plenty of Scholars did Skype. EDIT: But buy a cheapo Ethernet cable for like $5 and plug it into your router at home, if you can, to get a more stable connection. Can make a big difference for videoconferencing, and may help in other scholarship’s interviews – GE-Reagan for instance only does Skype interviews unless you’re already in Simi Valley. Which usually no one is. I digress.)
@codeit The 1k award is one-time.
@twnty16 Email said to log in, announcement was in portal - Good Luck to others still checking email & Congrats to the others selected!!!
