@KMull9811 I went to Cypress Woods High school located in Cypress Texas, its a suburb just outside of Houston, TX.
@utwannabe Oh okay! I was mostly wondering if you went to HS somewhere in east TX. I’m assuming you go to the LSC Cyfair then? I’m usually at the Tomball campus.
Anyways, I didn’t mean to clutter the thread… carry on!
@KMull9811 I am actually at the woodlands, cyfair, and tomball campuses usually!
Does 3.77 put me easily into COLA or on the borderline for getting in?
@nerdygirl2100 I would think your chances are very good.
I’m pretty sure anything 3.7+ is good for cola. Looking at old threads, it seems like 3.6 is usually the average but people with much less seem to get in. Good news for you indeed! What major are you going for? Also, does anyone know what an “open major” is?
@nerdygirl2100 it is very likely that your are going to get in
Does anyone know if you can switch your major within COLA before classes start? I applied under Government but I think I’d like to change to Linguistics.
I applied for government @wickedwarrior777
hey y’all!! can someone chance me?? I applied to UT with 13 credit hrs so I still need to hear back from UT when I get my official transcript updated. I’ll have a GPA of somewhere in between 3.2-3.46, I know it’s a little low on my side, but I plan to major in Education. My second choice major is Asian Cultures and Languages. Thanks so much!!
@aw1997 that gpa is low, your back up major isn’t competitive so maybe if your essays are good and you got good recs, and ec.
Do second choice majors even get considered? I read an article a while back saying that second choice majors aren’t even really considered for external transfers. Any thoughts on this?
THIS DECISION PROCESS IS GOING TO MAKE ME CRAZY, I HAVE CHECKED MYSTATUS 3.76 MILLION TIMES TODAY
Would it be possible to earn 30 credit hours in the Summer & Fall and transfer in the Spring? Would my application be looked at seriously considering how rushed that will be, if allowed?
I am transferring from a community college in Texas to Liberal Arts Islamic Studies first choice and African Diaspora Studies as second choice at UT Austin.
I have:
3.6 College GPA after 2 semesters
274 Volunteer hours over 9th-12th grade
Business Professionals of America President
Chess Club President
Debate Club member
Religious School Teacher every week
Work 5 Hours a week at a store
The UT Austin website says this:
https://admissions.utexas.edu/explore/transfer-profile
3.48 GPA for UT Austin transfers being accepted overall. This seems inaccurate so I was wondering what the actual stats are.
What GPA is generally needed to transfer into Liberal Arts from a Community College? What are my chances?
@GreenStripe you are probably going to get in, Islamic Studies and African Diaspora Studies are not competitive all.
Welp this is it boys/girls we are on the cusp of admission decisions, T-Minus 19 days (or less) till transfer admissions decisions are released for those of you who applied with 30+ hours before the March 1st deadline. May the force be with us all!
FINALLY
anyone?
