2016/2017 UT Austin Transfer Thread

@wickedwarrior777 I just averaged them, but honestly a 3.5 to 3.6 is about average for cola

Does it effect my chances that the majority of my credit is in AP courses? I only have a semester of college classes on my transcript, but I couldn’t apply later because, then, I would have been over 60 hours. 27 of my credit hours come from AP courses in high school. The other 13 are from college courses

I’m applying to COLA with a 3.8+ but Idk lol I’ll still get a bit nervous every now and then. But I’m pretty confident in my GPA at the same time

@utcswannabe

@wickedwarrior777 Your in

When we all get in, we should meet up. we can start a club that helps other people in other schools who want to transfer into UT also. Or something like that. All about stacking that resume :slight_smile:

@wickedwarrior777 I was thinking about making a website that discusses this stuff, like essay tips and stuff for specifically UT. I just wanted to make a place that consolidates information. I was even thinking we could get UT themselves to maybe have admissions counselors respond on there anonymously (but with a counselor tag off course). This could prevent rumor mills from spreading too!

I can’t stop checking the MyStatus even though I know it wont be out yet… Being an RTF major, I’ve been told that my chances are a lot lower. UT is a great school and with a 22% out of state transfer, my shots are even lower. Lets hope we all get in!

U got this. We are ALL going to get in!! I know it

I’m also out of state rtf! The only thing keeping my hopes up is that they want our out of state tuition lol all my other college decisions need to be in by June 1 though so I hope we hear back soon!!!

I see quite a few people on this thread transferring after 2 semesters. If you don’t mind sharing, is there anything you wish you had done to strengthen your stats?

Whyyyyyyyy do I keep checking, and I still have alot of tests coming up

@wickedwarrior777 for real though. We need to be positive.

April 22nd man, I’m waiting for that date

@JeyLee Hey are you looking for housing (in Austin next year), if so pm me!

The computer science competition is so stiff, it’s literally the most competitive program in the entire school right now. Mccombs looks easier to get into…

Last year multiple 4.0s got rejected, some with internships already… my chances, they are dwindling :frowning:

@juliar95 For your school’s did you apply similar to RTF? I went all in on UT not applying elsewhere. Also, did you put in a portfolio?

@LucidDream I’m applying after two semesters based on the sheer amount of credits I have. My high school was super competitive and so I took at lot of AP Courses. As long as my credits transfer to UT, I should be okay

I have seen several posts regarding to the dates in which we will hear our decision and I have a couple of questions. (sorry if these questions have been asked earlier in the thread)

  1. Are the decision dates usually different for those with 30+ hours and those with less than 30 hours? e.g. If I have 30+ hours am I more likely to hear back at the end of this month or am I still in the boat around June 6th.
  2. Do we know if any certain majors or colleges hear back earlier or later than others?

@holidayinthepark

People who applied with more than 30+ hours before March 1st, should get a decision back by the end of this month I think. If you applied with less than 30 hours and will have 30+ hours after your spring semester, then you should apparently hear back by June 15-20th ish.

Best,
