2016/2017 UT Austin Transfer Thread

@foreverago Im one of those people who dive head first without thinking too much, its best to choose the school you like the most and then just adjust on the fly. Don’t let one semester of bad profs ruin your whole UT experience!

@utcswannabe yeah i understand that aspect, and I really am trying to get into that mentality lol. its just that I’m trying to go to law school after my undergrad and i need my grades to be as high as possible!

Does anyone know when we will get more information about our on-campus housing apps?

Longtime lurker of this thread and the 2016 one, but this is my first time posting. As someone who applied to CS with nearly 60 hours @ 3.94 GPA from an in-state community college I’m both happy for y’all and now super nervous for myself (especially you @utcswannabe!). My application is still in review, but I did submit it close to the deadline so maybe I will be included in the later roll outs. I’m just hoping they haven’t sent out all the acceptances for 30+ hour CS applicants yet!

When is Mccombs coming out??

anyone started to look for housing yet? i’m quite worried ;; the housing in Austin is quite pricey

Anyone have any insight on when McCombs will be dishing out results?

Also, how will we know if we were rejected? Do they release those simultaneously or afterwards?

I creeped through last years discussion group and All of the McCombs applicants in that group did not find out until June 15. That doesn’t necessarily mean that no one heard earlier though…

@30plusUndergrad I was worried about that too cause rtf was released June 15 last year but this time it came out first so I think they are doing things differently

@juliar95 But at the same time, I haven’t heard back from RTF… maybe they are doing it solely based on when you turned in your application, instead of departmentally? I did turn mine in pretty late…

@collegekid0013 I turned mine in the last day and I heard Friday /: I hope you hear soon

All of should flash the “CC” sign at June orientation so we know who was on these threads!

@utcswannabe I am from houston as well it would be cool to go to orientation together! but still waiting for my response for RTF I turned my application in Jan around the 19th. Surprised that one person already heard back from RTF plus I have 40 credits already

Yeah I have no clue. I’m RTF too and it looks like they’ve started early, but who knows. I submitted mine about 15 days early and have over 60 credits and still haven’t heard so I’m not sure. I already know of 4 RTF that have heard back though.

@p0726n @collegekid0013 omg you turned everything in that last friday :frowning: I turned mine in for RTF in Jan idk how they sort things out maybe out of state first? Last name? idk my last name starts with an A. Maybe its just luck, sucks waiting

@juliar95 you see any similar trends from the people that already heard back for RTF maybe it could be a perfect 4.0s first

@hackum I honestly think it’s random because I’m out of state

@juliar95 could be or maybe there’s less people applying for RTF or there’s less incoming freshmen coming in for RTF, because I know the date for them to commit just passed

If anyone else hears from RTF please post. I’m anxiously awaiting my response.
I have a 3.89 GPA, 50 credits from an out of state school (75% of those classes being film related), and currently taking 12 credits at a Texas CC. I submitted 1 LOR and 2 essays. I also had 80+ hours of volunteer work with a film festival. So I’m hoping I hear soon, but I know it’s a super competitive program. Best of luck to y’all.

@madeleine2020 You’re probably good! I’m not sure they will take most of your film credits because when I talked to them they only accept GE but it’ll look really good!
