2016/2017 UT Austin Transfer Thread

@hackum @juliar95 @madeleine2020 I’m also RTF waiting with a 3.6. I have significant experience working as a producer and director and submitted a portfolio. I submitted two LORs and two essays with about 43 credits after this semester. I’m really anxious but excited to hear back!

Congrats to everyone that’s been accepted so far! I’m still waiting on Moody. I still need to submit my fafsa so maybe that’s the hold up

@Mudflaps Probably not an issue that you haven’t submitted FAFSA, I haven’t done mine and was admitted so its most likely just a Moody thing

@Mudflaps @Barnameji I’m pretty sure you were supposed to sumbit fafsa months ago, at least I did

Anyone know if accepted transfer students receive the banner that freshmen receive? The Gone to Texas banner?

So is COLA a lot easier to get into overall? By looking at it, many COLA acceptances had a GPA between 3.6-3.8, with a few with 3.8+. I’m looking to end this semester with a 3.82+, so I think my chances are pretty good with 3 LORs, good resume, 4-5 medical internships in hospitals. Excited for my acceptance also!! Gratz to all of you again!

I really hope we hear something today.

@utcswannabe Yeah, the priority deadline was March 13th. I wasn’t able to because my dad’s fsa id was locked.

I still have to wait to submit my final transcript to get the 30 hours. will this hurt my chances of getting in? i have a 4.0 and most likely will finish with a 4.0 this semester as well.

So, apparently financial aid notifications are indeed going to be released in early May, but I only have until May 1st to enroll or not enroll at UT. What the hell is that about?

@averagekid123

I hope not, cause I’m in the same boat as you. I’ll have 37 hours once I finish this semester with a 3.82+ applying to COLA (to an open major). Idk if they’re more strict with the admissions they make in the summer. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks,

Hey does anyone know when next wave of results come out?

@Ineedtoknow88 they are doing it day by day not waves

I know a few people got their decisions today and they were all rejections :frowning:

@juliar95 Well if that doesn’t instill confidence!

Hey guys, I got my acceptance notice on friday of 4/14/2017 for my first choice, that being the College of Natural Sciences as a Mathematics Major. I had a 3.7 GPA with no letter of recommendations. I also have 47 hours with a perfect GPA my first year.

@juliar95 were the rejections from RTF?

@hackum It was two nutrition and one rtf

@juliar95 @hackum I wonder if any further RTF got essentially “waitlisted” to see if spots open up after the accepted students decision deadline (which I think is May 1st). Because it wouldn’t make sense to send out waitlist notifications to those. Unfortunately as RTF we are a huge disadvantage because we can only apply for fall semesters…

@utstudent1337

So you had a perfect GPA your first year? Was it your Dual Credit what was affecting your GPA? Also, what was average GPA for Mathematics external transfers?

Thanks in advance.
