I’m been lurking for awhile and now I’m going crazy waiting. I have 60 credit hours (14 more after this semester), my GPA is 3.88, 2 essays, and 2 LOR. I applied with my first choice as Nursing (BSN). I haven’t seen many nursing transfer students on here but hopefully others will stop lurking too. Just saying hello and keeping my fingers crossed. Congrats to all those that have been accepted so far.
My daughter was just accepted into COLA Pre-Social Work today at 5:00pm! Wanted to share since we both have been following your thread. GPA 3.9, 31 Credit hours, 2 LOR, Required Essays, Transferring from Texas State.
Congrats to everyone that’s been accepted and good luck to those who are waiting! I’m currently working on my Spring 2018 transfer application and I had a quick question hopefully someone can answer. I’m gonna complete my 30 hours required for transfer in the summer at a community college, but I will attend a university in the fall. I plan on turning in my transfer application during the summer long before I start my classes at the university. Would I list the community college or the university as my most recent university in the ApplyTexas app? Thanks!
Just curious… Has anyone’s MyStatus page provided an update stating that admissions is waiting on final grades from the current Spring semester to make a decision? I see people on here saying either they’re accepted or still waiting, but not if they’ve received any other type of notifications. Impatient, I am… Thanks!
@austharris88 did you have above 30 or under 30 hours when you applied?
I almost forgot:
Acceptance received: 4/14/2017
Major: CS - Accepted and was first Choice
GPA: 4.0
Rec’s - 3
Relevant Classes: CS 1,2,3; Bio 1&2, Calc 1&2
I have a total of 45, but the classes I’m currently enrolled in (Cal 2 and Phys engr 2) are courses they take a hard look at compared to the overall GPA for engineering. Total GPA 3.83 currently.
@austharris88 No mine says “We have all the items we need to make your admission decision. As soon as your decision is made, it will be posted on this page and you’ll be notified by mail.”
Yes I did have a 4.0 gpa my freshman year of college. In high school, I did not take any Dual Credit classes and only took AP classes. I currently do not know the average gpa for mathematics transfers, but for the CNS, the average gpa of those accepted was a 3.6. For those enrolled, the average gpa was a 3.68 @UTMccombs2017
@collegekid0013 I actually got in on Wednesday but didn’t think to check until Saturday. Was not expecting to hear back so soon!
Im gonna be at the June 29-30 orientation session. see y’all there.
Does you major matter in your chances for getting into UT Austin?
I selected Islamic Studies at COLA.
Do they look at just the school you applied to or do they also factor in the major you selected?
Pretty sure they also consider the major. For my case, they will not because I applied to what they call an “Open Major”.
Looking for ANYONE who was accepted into their school of choice with a below average GPA strictly due to Dual Credit. (For instance, my GPA is a 4.0 but adding Dual Credit would give me a 3.71) Just trying to run some statistics on what my chances will be.
@UTMccombs2017 there have been before, as with any other major. I read about the situation your in and bro I feel for you. That must suck, but hey there is always a chance you will still get in! It’s not like they wont see that you took it in highschool and notice your upward gpa trend.
I appreciate it. I have my appeal letter drafted already, along with another essay that both explain my situation extensively. Along with two more LOR’s i’ll be uploading, hopefully that all makes a difference.
I’m trying to find a good balance between optimism and pessimism.
@UTMccombs2017 @utcswannabe I’m in the same boat and its really killing me, but I’m hoping all my work experience this year and my upwards gpa trend will get me in as well as my recommendation letters
Y’all will be fine. Don’t worry
@juliar95 Oh so every day there is a chance of results coming out? I did comp sci btw
