denied to CNS with 3.53 GPA 64 credit hours, majoring in Biology
@JeyLee Were you denied today?
Also, does anyone know what the number after mystatus/admission/(xx) means? Mine is 00 by the way, and I have heard that others are different.
@UTMccombs2017 yeah I saw it around 9p
@UTMccombs2017 My last 2 numbers vary from 00 or 02. I don’t think it means anything. It’s probably just the directory or path you’re accessing on the web server.
@JeyLee Huh, guess they are releasing decisions on the weekend. Interesting.
Well, I think that most of our decisions will be released during the coming week. Good luck to all of you and don’t forget to keep us updated here on the thread.
Hello all,
New here - joined because I’m incredibly nervous and need to talk. I applied for internal transfer to CS and likely won’t hear back until June 16th, and was wondering if anyone could chance me. My stats are:
3.87 GPA (3.83 for STEM-only classes)
59 hours (31 in-residence so I didn’t have to appeal; the rest are AP credits)
-Calc 2 (A)
-Chem 1, 2 (A, A)
-Bio 1, 2 (A-, A-)
-Astronomy 1 (A-)
-3 A’s, 1 A- in non-STEM classes
Currently Neuroscience/English double major, entered UT as a freshman Neuro admit, so I’m transferring within CNS
Essay: mentioned that I taught myself HTML/CSS in high school, am currently teaching myself Python, joined a CS club during college, have consistently done well in math/science
I’m not feeling very confident since I know it’s extremely competitive, but I’m hoping that having half the CS degree requirements done already and good grades in UT’s STEM classes will sway the admissions committee. Thoughts?
@mortalkings I think your chance is 50/50. In terms of current competitiveness, CS is comparable to Electrical Engineering. Last year, ECE required a 3.92 technical gpa. However, some people on reddit say that internal transfer to CS has gotten easier than 2 years ago. Considering you have all A’s, I would say you have a good chance.
Hi guys! I was just admitted to my second choice major for Journalism at Moody. My first choice was RTF. I’m an incoming junior. Stats:
-Transferring from Canadian University
-60 hours
-Something between 3.95-4.00 GPA
-3 LORs
-Lots of extracurriculars
Anyone that applied w/ less than 30 hours for a COLA major hear back yet?
Suspense is killing me hahaha
Ugh this is so frustrating. I had to put down a $650 deposit for a school that I’m not even going to if I get into UT. PLEASE SEND ME A DECISION!
Hey dudes.

Hang in there everyone!!!
Been stalking this thread for a while lol. Just heard back from Moody as well. Admitted into first choice RTF.
Transferred from 4 year private university
Texas resident
GPA 3.9
1 LOR from screenwriting professor
3 great essays
good extra-currriculars
about 35 hours
Congrats everyone!!! What time did ya’ll hear back?
Ahhh I got into Journalism! RTF was my first choice as well but i’m ecstatic
Looks like today was a moody day. Hopefully they will put out natural sciences decisions soon!
I’ve been following this thread for a while, but its my first time posting. I just got accepted to COLA but not to my major. Here are my stats:
55 hours
3.4 GPA
Few extracurriculars, mostly from HS
Internship with AT&T
No LOR
2 pretty decent essays
I got into Sociology. My first choice was Psychology and 2nd was Health and Society. Would it be possible to appeal for a major change? My goal in the future is to become a physical therapist, and if I go with Sociology I’m just worried I won’t be able to take all the necessary science classes because it’s a BA degree and not BS.
