@masterblitz71 GPA isn’t everything. I mean, they have to be releasing a ton of decisions today, and there is a reason none of us have heard back yet. Same for last years thread. It is possible it is just coincidental, though.
Still haven’t heard anything. I don’t expect an acceptance but, I’m just tired of waiting

@p0726n @bsmith007 That’s not a bad GPA at all, and im not criticizing but let’s not be naive. That is by far the lowest GPA I have seen getting accepted into McComb’s. By far. So far we have seen a 3.88 and a 3.91 getting denied. You must have had some absolutely phenominal other qualities, or had a 4.0 GPA in college and the rest is from your DC. Could you elaborate a bit?
to anyone thats been accepted, did you randomly check my status and find out you got in or did you check after getting an email to check
@colboycsat when Ut sent out their final wave of freshman decisions last February, I got the notification email about 4 hours after MyStatus updated.
@bsmith007 yeah 3.54 is crazy. Must’ve had one hell of an application because that’s pretty low for McCombs. Congrats for real, I mean seriously that’s a huge feat.
@colboycsat I checked randomly around 6 PM central time and I got the email around 7 PM. It might have updated a couple hours earlier but I definitely checked a few times earlier that day.
Can someone chance me? Very nervous about hearing back today (or at least hopefully today). I applied for CNS Chemistry first choice and COLA English as my second.

I went to SMU for my first 2 years and did my last year at ACC but I didn’t take too many hours this past year.

Hey guys!! I just got into McCombs!!! I CAN FUCKING BELIEVE IT. I applied to MIS as my first choice, and African Diaspora as my second major. My GPA was 3.4, 44 hours, 3 LOR, 3 Great Essays, BPA president, 59 volunteer hours. I wasn’t expecting to get into McCombs. IDK how I got in. Maybe because I am a recipient of affirmative action. I think maybe because I spoke about contemporary issues facing business employment within the United States such as sexism, racism, etc. I think they may have liked my essays for focusing on disadvantaged people. Anyways best of luck to everybody!
@infamousmountain That’s unbelievable in the metaphorical and literal sense. If you did get in with those stats you’ve broken nearly every other admissions stats from the past 5 years that I’ve seen on CC. What other stats do you have? Do you work in the field of business or MIS at the moment? What type of University did you come from? Are you IS or OOS? It’s just a bit weird and would be nice to know more seeing that the only people ‘hearing back’ thus far have had some of the lowest stats while we’ve seen 3.9+'s denied a bit back.
@infamousmountain @mccombs17orbust Yeah, that’s by far the lowest GPA I have ever seen come close to getting accepted. That’s even pretty far below the average who even applied for McComb’s, and not even near those accepted. We have had a 3.88 and a 3.91 denied on here, both with good LOR’s and EC’s. The lowest GPA I have seen accepted to McComb’s that wasn’t Dual Credit was a 3.82, and that was with an OUTSTANDING amount of Extracurriculars and essays.
We also just had a fake account that claimed he was accepted to McComb’s with a 3.55 a few hours ago, so were very skeptical right now. His account was brand new just like yours. Were just trying to get correct statistics.
It seems like they are going from the bottom up with McCombs admissions.
I swear to god if I don’t hear back today I’m literally going to freak. Its already 3:45. They make decisions till like 8:30 from what I’ve seen so only 5 more hours.

I 100% doubt that they liked your essay about race so much they were willing to overlook a 3.44 GPA.
Hey, just remember an average GPA is just that, an average. There always had to be some low ones to make the avg gpa of admits what it is.
