2016/2017 UT Austin Transfer Thread

@bevo2017 Congratulations!

@UTCStransferr maybe 03 means accepted?? I have the same thing on mine lol

My URL was 02 for the past month and now that I’ve been accepted, it’s still 02. So idk if it really means anything.

@2020UT Man I hope so, I think the more logical approach though is it means your decision has been made, just hasn’t been sent out yet.

Yeah I just called and asked an admissions representative about the URL thing and she had no idea what I was talking about lol

Hmm, well then let’s not bank on it. That admissions guy is a complete moron.

Yeah I feel like no nobody really knows what’s going on, even them haha idk

mine has an 05…idk if that is true

so I submitted my final dual credit transcript on may 31st and the my status page showed that it was received and it changed to “In review” the next day. the weird thing was that even though the transcript was under the “done” section of the to do list, there was still a message in the required to do that said I needed to submit a transcript with everything up to fall 2016. I called them and they said not to worry about it. Now, after I called them today, it turns out that was the reason my application was held up even though the guy said I’ll be fine. I cleared it up, but the person I talked to today said I’ll realistically hear back at the end of next week bc “it just now got put into the queue” due to the transcript issue like wtf

Well, I just talked to an admissions dude since I am still in review. He said I am still in review for my 1st major (COLA), which that supports the 01 theory since that is on the end of my URL right now. He said the number of seats available this year did not change and that there were a ‘record number’ of applicants. Anyway, he said that the admissions office is currently ‘advocating’ for more seats to open up within COLA, which is most likely the reason why I am still in review (according to this dude). He said there are some 'high-ranking- people in admissions advocating for more seats to open up, but it is ultimately up to the specific college to decide. So there is my experience. He also said decisions will most likely continue rolling out into next week and that I’m welcome to call again if I have still not a received a decision.

@UTtobe i applied to education and my application is still in review as well

For anyone who applied for internal transfer to CNS, I just called the main CNS desk, was redirected to CNS advising, and told that internal transfer decisions are still on schedule to be released today around 5 pm. Best of luck to everyone waiting on a response!

when are mccombs external expected to come out? haven’t heard back

@UTMccombs2017 I’m currently an Econ major at UT so if you have any questions about the department I’m happy to help

Got into McCombs

  • External Transfer from University of Houston
  • 4.0 GPA
  • No LTR
  • 50+ volunteer hours
  • 2 good essays
  • Also applied to the iMPA Program

@JackM82 Awesome, I will probably have some eventually. I need to actually decide what my next plan of action is though.

@HoustonAustin How did you apply to the iMPA program as a transfer? I thought you apply once you’re already at UT.

@UTMccombs2017 Don’t worry I can relate to that, was rejected from McCombs yesterday for internal transfer but attempting to appeal that decision

i’ve been watching this thread for a while. I had 03 on my URL a few mins ago and now its 00 but it says im still in review

and now i am back to 03… doubt this means anything though
