2016/2017 UT Austin Transfer Thread

I applied through the regular iMPA application: https://utdirect.utexas.edu/business/mpa_int/index.WBX

And on their admissions site, it says you can apply to the iMPA program as an external.

I don’t think the 02 means denied your first major cuz mine was at 02 and I still got my first major

Alright the URL thing probably doesn’t mean anything

@HoustonAustin 54 credit hours must be completed, so I’m not eligible yet it seems.

@sp00ky Apply next year with all the prereqs met. It’s really easy to get into the program if you’re already at UT (like 2/3 of the applicants get in).

Good Luck !!

I just called admissions about the delay on COLA decisions and apparently the counselors just found out that this year COLA is decreasing their number of transfers significantly. They are basically going to be forced to deny more than they would generally because of limited spaces this year. Soooo I’m starting to doubt my 3.65 is good enough for COLA government lol.

Also, the numbers at the end of your URL are just a security update feature and means nothing (straight from the admissions office themselves).

Kinda late but… Accepted to Mccombs!!! @UTMccombs2017 guess you were wrong about me. Admissions truely is holistic, even though I “only” had a 3.8, they recognized what I’ve been through. Just stay positive and good things will happen, Always!

what does it mean if you can apply for housing

COLA 3.7 History. Im starting to get worried

@ccollege2020 It doesn’t mean anything

So I just talked to admissions again, and it turns out I haven’t officially been denied yet. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Also @ajaxo710 I never said you didn’t deserve it!!

I’m starting to think that for those of us that still haven’t heard back from Moody, it might be because we applied to COLA as a second choice and have already been denied Moody admissions and now we’re a part of the delay that COLA is having

I hope that’s not the case :frowning:

Lurker here. Good luck guys! I transferred into Cockrell last year, and then internally transferred to my first choice major in the Spring. If anyone has any questions about transferring into/within Cockrell hmu!

COLA = Less Seats, More Applicants. Not looking good right now

Genuinely nervous as shit with a 3.875 applying for COLA Philosophy.

@yungchildish If you’re nervous with a 3.875, I should be extremely worried with a 3.3. You are more than fine.

@UTChemTransfer I’d like to think so but this talk of reduced COLA seats has me on my toes. Hopefully we’ll all get some good news soon

Do you guys know if they’ll be working on the weekend and getting decisions out?

@masterblitz71 I called and was told that my decision will be released today or over the weekend
