@J2H239 It was actually the result of me emailing about not yet having submitted my short answers. I was unaware if I would be able to submit these after I was accepted, so I emailed Pitt’s OAFA and asked about how they would affect both my potential nomination/admittance into the GAP and my consideration for merit scholarships.
The response that I received indicated that I can and should submit the short answer questions, and also mentioned that I had been nominated for the GAP already and would receive more information about it by US mail in the coming weeks. It was really just a lucky coincidence.
Hope that helps!
It’s a nice beginning for you. The GAP in Medicine is ridiculously competitive in Pitt. Good lucky!!!
These stats are making me nervous :-S
@Hunterwhaley - please keep in mind that the typical cc poster is not indicative of the applicant pool as a whole. Check the college data website for pitt to get a better picture.
what time of day do the emails typically go out? i submitted my app over two weeks ago, it was marked complete on the 15th, and i submitted my short answers last weekend. So anxious to hear back!
My D16 received her around 3:00pm CT
Same here - a little after 3:00 pm EST.
Just to provide an update on mine–I received my letter yesterday, which also stated that I had been accepted into Pitt’s Honors College.
Accepted today with a 3.5 W and a 31 ACT. Submitted on 9/6
Good luck to all!
Accepted today with a 3.6 W and 30 ACT. Submitted 8/29. Applied to business school.
Got accepted with a 1760 sat and a 3.8 gpa
@neuprospect98 I got my email exactly four weeks after I applied and my letter with honors college notification a few days later. About a week later, I got the letter for guaranteed admission into the grad school of public health.
Has anyone’s status changed on my.pitt.edu? I got my acceptance letter and email but the application portal has no acceptance/award notification (not that I was expecting a scholarship lol)
@patriot420, It will be a little while until scholarships are announced. Those who are selected for scholarships should expect to hear sometime in the late fall to early spring.
Hope that helps!

@hailtopitt1787: Any idea how long it should take a snail mail acceptance letter to arrive? We are out of state. My D16 received an email acceptance on 9/22 but has yet to receive a letter admit. She is beginning to question the email.
@labegg, I am surprised it has not reached you by now. Could you please email oafa@pitt.edu with your daughter’s name, DOB, and address? We will check on the status of that letter. If it has been lost in the mail, we can resend.
Best,

I’m still waiting to hear back and am growing incredibly anxious… I submitted on 9/15, received the link with short answers and whatnot on 9/19, and submitted them that Sunday. OOS, 33 ACT, 4.2 GPA at competitive high school. Still have not heard back. Is it reasonable to expect a decision by the end of this week?
and my app was complete when i received the email on the 19th
@linds248, You should hear back soon. Our admissions committee is doing their best to give everyone a thorough review and get back to them as soon as possible.
Best of luck!

Thank you so much! Your turn around time is outstanding. It was just worrying me to hear about so many friends receiving their decisions and not me thank you!
