@wassman98, I would encourage you to contact our office and ask to speak to one of our admissions counselors. They will be able to look at your application and give you more detailed advice (and share information that is specific to your particular situation). You can reach our office at 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.
I have applied for MSIS program. My application was marked complete on 1/24 but have not heard from the university as yet. It has already been 8 weeks + .
I had dropped a mail to sisinq@sis.pitt.edu to inquire about the same. They have replied saying its raised with the reviewing faculty. There is no update post that.
Just running out of patience. I have already received admit from few other universities and I need to respond to them as they have admission acceptance deadlines.
I am as international applicant … currently in US.
Al my documents hv reached the university and the status on the online portal says pending for review with faculty
Hey, does anyone know if Pitt looks at weighted or unweighted GPAs?
And does anyone know how they recalculate them? @hailtopitt1787 do you know?
Anyone with info is appreciated
On our application we ask for the cumulative weighted GPA provided by your school. If your school does not provide a weighted GPA, we ask for the cumulative unweighted GPA.
@c011e9e, There is a conversion process for GPA and test scores. If you have more specific questions about that process, please contact our office: 412-624-7488.
Because so many people have posted their acceptances, I’m guessing that the reply to my application for Fall '16 admission to upitt’s bsn program, which was completed on the 24th of March, cannot be good? I haven’t heard a peep from upitt and there is no news on the portal server site either.
So, it’s been 9 days since I last e-mailed UPITT about my admission and they reply was, “There is not yet a decision on your application. Waiting for the School of Nursing to make the decision. Wish I could give you a time frame. Hopefully you will hear soon.”
Granted, my admission was a long shot to begin with as, I moved here from another country, I’ve returned to school after about 8-9 years and I’m trying to transfer from an out of state community college. But, I just graduated Summa Cum Laude in my Associates of Sciences degree, I’ve taken extra science subjects (General Chem. 1 & 2) and I am more determined than any fresh high school graduate.
I just need to know the answer so I can plan things accordingly and reading about so many who have already received their acceptance/rejection letters just has me a bit on edge.
“mommdc” and “RyanG1207” Thank you both very much for taking the time out of your day to reply to my post. It’s the mid semester break and, I supposed that it is true, “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” I know I should relax and focus on other areas of my life.
Once again, I’m grateful for your kind words.
Keep well.
You’ve been a calming voice during this deafening “Admission limbo”.
