@mellyjune oh yeah I agree, a large group of people received either a decision or an SGR last year on the week of April 20th
The mid year submission option appeared for me too. The portal is ridiculously slow
I can’t even get my application status to show up sigh
if it’s actually an SGR, they’ll send an email too, right?
mid-year report disappeared for me Lmaoooooooooooooo appeared for me an hour ago
disappeared for me as well, keeping my hope alive of the .0000000000000000000000001% chance that I receive a straight up acceptance
@pomeranian4rich mine too!
do some people who receive SGRs end up getting rejected? also what’s the likelihood or a straight up acceptance or rejection (with no SGR). do the majority of people get SGRs in the first place, and if you don’t can you assume you’re rejected
@Whoosh got a sgr last year had 4.0 gpa rejected. other people I knew with sgr and had a lower gpa were accepted. It boils down to how many major prereqs and GEs you have finished.
I spent 2 years at SFSU and one semester at a community college so I had a lot of credits. I opted to take the semester off to work (I had reached the maximum number of transferable credits anyways) and I mentioned this in my additional info section, would they still ask for a SGR when I don’t have spring grades to report?
How would you guys rank each of the Viterbi Engineering majors by competitiveness?
@lasloth , I too had similar circumstances. They should not request an SGR if you already given them an explanation of why you took a period off of school. I had mentioned it as well in the additional info section of my common app. However, they sent me an email last week saying I needed to submit an explanation of what I did on my time off (when I already did through the common app). I resubmitted my explanation on USC’s portal via additional info and today they finally cleared it . In your case you should be good. If USC needs more info, they will be sure to email you.
What’s the link to where you guys are saying they asked for a GSR? Also, do they physically mail the acceptance/rejection letters or do they email you?
@dvalenc7 I recieved a similiar email. So should I just write something and submit itusin the “Additional Info” box? IMy required docments shows “none” so I wondered how to actually go about deall with that.
Does anyone here know how difficult it is to join a frat at USC as a junior transfer?
@uclatft Not all students are requested to submit a SGR so if you don’t see one maybe you got lucky. If you log into your portal , check both the “USC admission status” tab and “submit application documents”, a notification to submit a SGR will appear if needed (though a lot of people have not yet received SGRs so check daily). +1 to your last question, I’ve heard mixed things, some students say they were notified first via USC portal under the admission status. Others say they received a physical package through courier. If anyone could fill us in on this that would be appreciated.
@InTheNightSky95 I dealt with this same issue!
I’ll tell you how I sorted it out. I took a leave of absence from my old university because I have reached the maximum amount of transferable units. Through the common app I submitted an explanation before hand to let them know my circumstances. Last Friday, (April 14th) USC emailed me. They wanted an explanation of what I did during my time off school. In the email there was no link or direction as to where to send my letter electronically. I checked under the submit application documents and there was nothing under the required field. I called USC admissions on the same Friday and explained that I could not submit it because it wasn’t showing in my “required” field. The woman told me to submit it through portal as “educational history” in the document library. After I submitted it, I was still unsure if I did it correctly and wanted to make sure it was correct. Later on in the day I followed up and spoke with another person to verify I submitted it correctly. Instead he told me that I should submit it as “additional info” (also found in the document library) because that one is apparently updated and checked daily. Long story short I waited a week for the “missing file” to disappear in my admission status but it did not. I called today and explained that it did not update or remove it from my admission, the person verified I had submitted it and removed that notification from my admission status! I hope that helps you or any others
I’ll go ahead and finish that additionall comments thing now so that by the time admissions reads my email it’ll already be in. I don’t need to give them more reasons to reject me lol
How hard is it for transfers to get on-campus housing?
@InTheNightSky95 you got this!
@dvalenc7 thanks
