@0moonpearl0 np! so far you are the only one that i know that have the same situation like me. i wonder if there are other people who got the same thing on their transcripts.
My transcript never changed! My GPA and test scores were pretty good. Congrats on getting accepted (it seems like things were more competitive this year?) and I hope your major changes in your favor!!
@uwapplicant21 Thanks!! I have my fingers crossed for it to change!!
So I just talked to my friend at uw, she told me that she thinks foster admits freshmen based on the writing part of the SAT/ACT, which makes sense to me since i didnt do well on the english portion (620…) and foster requires uw students to take WSA (writing skill assessment) in order to get in later.
also @0moonpearl0 have you received your mail yet?
@blinkblink17 I haven’t received the mail yet, all I have is the unoffcial transcript for now. I didn’t do well on the writing part either, in fact I got the same score as you lol! Thanks for the info
Does anyone know if everyone that chose business administration as their first choice on their application get an invitation to apply for Foster Business School Scholarships?
I think the invitation for the scholarship is sent out for everyone that chose biz as the primary choice.
Thank you!
Anyone know the date Foster start sending out letters or give notification and stuff?
I just got the email from Foster about Freshman Direct
@uwapplicant21 OMG! What did it say? Did they say they are done with admitting or anything? Please share
I got accepted as well and it just said congratulations on getting in. It didn’t say if they were done or not but it did correlate to what was said on my unofficial transcript.
@uwapplicant081 Can you share you GPA and SAT status with us so we can get an idea of what to expect? Thank you so much!!
I got into the foster school at UW and I have a gpa of 3.78 and my act was 29 but I’m also in the Cambridge program in my high school, which is an international program from the University of Cambridge, so I’m getting both my high school diploma and AICE diploma which qualifies me for both college credit and international credit if I study abroad. I don’t think the foster school looks just at grades and test scores because UW doesn’t just admit straight A students anymore. They tend to look for leaders, students heavily involved in communities, and they really promote diversity and students with different backgrounds and experiences. The essay on diversity is a huge factor for the admission decisions as well. I hope this helps and honestly you can always apply again and I’m sure they will definitely admit you because you have really strong extracurriculars and grades. Maybe I’ll see you at UW!!!
My youngest got the email last night also, freshman Direct Admit to Foster. His unofficial transcript still says Non-matriculated since he is taking a UW course through his HS.
I got in with a 3.8 and 1450 new SAT, hope to see you all there!
@0moonpearl0 My D was admitted to Fosters for Direct Admit. Received the email from Foster yesterday. She has a 3.78 UW gpa and 31 ACT.
I wanted to clarify things a bit from an earlier post. If you are not Direct Admit to Foster as a Freshman, then you will have to apply to Foster through Standard Admission sometime in your Sophomore year. They require at least 60 credits (from UW or other transferable credits) to apply. Take a look at their website here for more info:
http://foster.uw.edu/academics/degree-programs/undergraduate-programs/admissions/standard-admission/
I really don’t know if Foster will re-assess applicants for admission. It’s one the most applied to programs at the UW and they only have around 200 spots for Direct Admit. I do wish you the best.
Got in as well. In state resident with 3.95 GPA and 1370 sat.
“Congratulations! I am delighted to offer you admission to the Foster School of Business for autumn quarter 2017. You are among a select number of high-achieving high school students to be admitted to the Foster School of Business.”
Didn’t say anything about them being done choosing… I believe theres a “waitlist” sort of thing for Foster? So if some people don’t accept the offer, they’ll pull from that list. BUT you wouldn’t know about that until you have already committed.
I’m in! In state resident with a 3.99 GPA and a 33 ACT.
