2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@aznboi4981 I emailed my advisor on friday and heard back on monday morning

@GxBearrr I asked if I course I took would meet one of their pre-req requirements. Perhaps my advisor is still looking into this? What sort of information did you need?

@aznboi4981 I had a few questions. I asked about sending in/uploading unofficial transcripts if our semester is over well before USC is going to make any decision and I also asked a question about one of my classes meeting a requirement as well. My advisor is Maria R. I had emailed her very early on friday morning and she got back to be around 10 am on monday

@GxBearrr Hmm, very strange. I emailed my advisor sort of late on Friday evening when I got home from my outing. Still no response today.

For applicants that are in SoCal/went to high school here, how long did it take for your high school transcript to be marked as “received”? mine was sent on friday

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the YouSC account. In the section “document library” there is a legit amount of documents that, i assume, i still have to submit. However, many of them i have already submitted and they are already in the “received documents”. Though, some of them such as copy of a passport i havent sent yet. I wonder if you guys can tell me whether i should consider the section “document library at all”.

Thank you!

By the way, i wish every single applicant the best of luck!

@bantisz not everything in the YouSC account document library has to uploaded and submitted. It takes a while for everything to update out of experience. Just consider the financial aid forms the additional ones are essential. Other than that just ask a counselor if its been two weeks and your transcript isn’t there.

This may be stating the obvious, but just incase - the document library is all kinds of documents, you should only be submitting the ones they are telling you to submit. You do not submit all of those in the libary, just the ones that are flagged that they want from you.

It has been a week and still no response from my advisor.

Do I send another email?

@aznboi4981 Yes you could, but what did you ask her to do? What was her call to action? You were hoping a course would cover your math requirement right? Were you just pointing that out to her at this point in time? Either way, whether she has an answer or not, an acknowledgement is reasonable to expect. I’m just trying to figure out if you asked a question she can actually answer versus making a note of it.

@CADREAMIN I mean, I did end the email by saying, “I look forward to hearing from you soon.”

I know I’m a late joiner, but here are my stats! Looking forward to seeing everyone’s results. Fight on!

@aznboi4981 Sorry for slow response, I thought I posted this, but didn’t…Is there something she should be replying to? You could send another email in the chain (or forward your sent email depending on which email you are using) and just ask if she could confirm that she received your earlier email regarding your math class and ask if she needs any additional information. Short and sweet as they say. Good luck!

I know that they say on there website that a response will come out by May 31st, but do they actually come out earlier.

Hey guys, I am currently a freshman at my local JC in Santa Clarita, California and I was denied admission for freshman year but was offered the “Guaranteed Pathway” plan for sophomore year (Fall 2018). Only a few dozen freshman applicants were offered this plan and I’m assuming most accepted. The plan is for us to attend another college of our choice (preferably a Cali JC school so credits transfer through the articulation agreement), maintain 3.3 gpa with a minimum of 30 semester units, and fulfill USC’s lower division writing requirement. I’m looking to find any other current college freshman who have also got and accepted this plan. I am also looking to find other current freshman who are wanting to transfer to USC next year as a Sophomore since we are all on the same boat once we get there. I want to find out about the housing situation for sophomore transfers and other basic situations that will arise.

As far as what majors, I am going for Annenberg for Comms plus minor in Political science in Dornsife. I will most likely be ahead of most sophomores by the time I get there since I am taking more units so it gives me more time for a double major or minor.

Hopefully there’s more of you out there with the same situation!

Tenth day since I sent email and no response.

Going to send another email today.

@098lldd They start to come out in late March to April for people in Trojan Transfer. Then depending on your major they start to flush out into may it seems like people got them in the biggest chunks the mid of may till the end last year.

Hi! I know this question is probably being asked a million times. So sorry to repeat it again, but

Is it ok if I finish the equivalent WRIT 130 course this spring, instead of last fall? I had to take a pre-req for this English class last fall. Thanks in advance!

yeah

@clairen - absolutely fine.
