I live in BC, Canada and the estimated cost of attending the 2018 experience is around 1200 for me:( which really sucks. So I'm really struggling whether I should go or not! If there are people who have already been to the event, please give me some advices!! Also, is there any way that I can stay in one of the dorms for just one night? I'm only 18 and I don't think I'm even eligible to stay at a hotel by myself.

Yes you can stay in the dorm - just send a request. Whether it is worth the cost or not is totally up to you… My guy liked it a couple years ago, but our travel expenses weren’t quite as high.

If you are undecided or haven’t seen the school, I would urge you to go and stay overnight and see how you feel about the “fit”. The information conveyed is probably all stuff that you have heard before (open curriculum, dorms, food plan choices, clubs, collaborative nature of the students). It was interesting to hear the current students speak, but of course, they had nothing but positive things to say about the school. If you have decided that you do want to attend, then there really is no reason to spend the money to go.

Also I have the same issue as you with the 18 year old hotel thing. If you call the hotel and say that you are visiting rochester, as long as you fax in a parent permission slip they will let you stay!

thanks guys!!! I just decided to not go since I’m pretty sure that I’ll be attending Rochester

For other 18 year olds out there, I connected with a host on airbnb instead of a hotel. If you consider that route, make sure you look for a place with several reviews.
