I took the SAT Reasoning Test in January, as an eighth grader, for CTY. I got 730-CR, 760-M, and 760-W on the test. I am interested in applying to Harvard eventually. Is it in my best interest to take the test again as a junior or to simply apply based on my current scores? Thanks.

Scores taken in 7th and 8th grade for CTY are not used for college admissions. You can use your current scores. If I were you, take the test in 9th grade, I wouldn't expect you to drop much if at all, and just use it then.

I spoke to people at CTY and the College Board after receiving my scores. They told me that if I sent in a request, they would save my scores to be used officially in admissions. I have checked and the scores were saved as requested and can be sent to admissions offices.

Well your scores are good enogh to satistfy the test scores part of the application, time to focus yourself on other exploits.

Thanks for your help.

your SAT scores stay with you til death.

my friend got in with 790 V, 720 M and 750 W.

you'll be fine.

You should still take in highschool...I mean what's the harm in improving them? Saving them was a good idea...GL in admissions and make the best out of ur hs experience!

hopefully they don't change the SAT again within 4 years for you

2250 is good enough already, but why stop there if you are ambitious enough to be thinking about Harvard when you're only a freshman? Retake junior year. You're better off than most, since you know you already have a perfectly qualified score.

Ya, retake junior year. Usually, taking the test junior year will produce a score significantly higher than taking the test freshman/8th grade. of course, for you, it won't be that significantly higher, but I'm willing to bet money that it will be higher. Also, 123orange does bring up a good pt. They MAY change the SAT again (esp with the bad publicity and such, and the glitches they've been having this past year), so you should think about taking it again.

Wow.. you're really smart.

or a REALLY good test taker/ lucky guesser heh.

when I read your title I said to myself, "holy sh|t"

Wow, that's rediculously sad....

Learn how to spell "ridiculously."

I got a 2380 last spring in 8th grade. I'm saving those scores.

Why do EIGHTH graders take the SAT?

If you score high enough you qualify for CTY, which is an amazing life changing experience.

Wouldn't you like an extra practice test? And appearently it can count for the real thing too, if you do well. Why do 9 and 10th graders take the PSAT?

Wow, that's impressive!

Getting such a good score saves you from a lot of stress come test time :) Consider yourself lucky

^ Yes, that's one of the reasons I took the SAT. If I'm prepared, there's no reason in waiting. I got the Math IIC and Chemistry SAT II over with. By freshman year I should finish off another one.
