I have a 30 composite for the ACT (35 english, 30 reading, 27 science, 29 math, 11 writing) and a 1980 on my SATs (700 reading, 620 math, 660 writing).

Is the ACT score better? Are they so similar it doesn't matter which one I send in (to save money).

They are the same exact when converted.
Send the SAT to schools you apply to that are on the east coast and west coast.
Send the ACT to southern and midwest schools

One isn’t better score wise at all, but east/west school’s tend to favor the SAT and the south and midwest ACT.

I’ll confuse you even more (and btw, I agree with Vince)…

there are some schools who ignore the science score completely…

others who devalue the ACT reading (for what reason, still escapes me)…

Send them both to all schools…unless they are completely stat hungry for rankings (cough, cough Wash U)…they will take your highest score for admission purposes…
