32 in tv in a 10.6ft x 11ft room?

Is that too big? I'm thinking it is, but that's the TV I have in my bedroom. My mother thinks I should buy a new one once I see how big/small the room looks with all the stuff in it and get it shipped down to the school or she'll bring it in Sept. I'm thinking a 19 or 22 in.

I've suggested buying one of those things for my laptop so I could record TV shows on it and not getting a television but I'm not very knowledgeable about how they work. I just know that I want to be able to watch my favorite shows (not just lounging about watching tv all the time, but my favorites like Supernatural, Community, House, The Jersey Shore and the Real Housewives -- don't judge me, lol)

Help? TIA.

Is it a flat screen?
If so, then you should be able to fit it, or if your allowed mount it to the wall.
If it isn’t flat screen I’d go with a smaller screen size.

I had a 19" and thought it was decently big enough. 32 inch would be excessive by far. I also assume we’re talking lcd and not crt cause 32 inch crt would weight like 100 pounds.

The laptop tuner thing is an OK idea. But it’s really only useful for recording shows because you’re usually using your laptop for things other than watching shows (I have a tuner card in my desktop which I use to schedule recordings and all that). You might consider buying a VGA cable or whatever video output cable your laptop supports so then you can connect up your laptop to your tv (assuming whatever tv you buy has this feature).

PS - I don’t actually spend much time watching TV. Usually busy with other stuff. Number 2, I also don’t record many shows since most shows are available via piracy. The shows I record are the obscure ones like House Hunters that don’t show up online.

32 inch is the best dorm size tv, seems like any larger and the price seems to increases pretty significantly. Any smaller it can be hard to see if you have a lot of people in your room, or if you or anyone want to play videogames.

Should be fine, 32" isn’t that big.

I had a 42" in my double, which was 19*11 or so. Bigger room, but a good size for it.

You can never have too big of a TV…as long as it fits!

Exactly. My roommate and I are getting the biggest tv we can afford to put in our apartment. That is, the biggest tv we can afford without it being some offbrand, thirdparty, black friday at Walmart TV
