Hi, I received a 740 on my January literature subject test. I scored 770-800 on the practice tests I took, so it was a bit of a disappointment.

I'm applying as an English major to a few top schools. Most of my EC's are focused around writing. Will the 740 in literature hurt me? I don't want to retake.

My other scores are a 2250 (1st time SAT) and 790 (chem subject test).

I agree with entomom. Spend your time honing your craft, try getting something published, work on a literary magazine or get a job at a bookstore…All a better use of your time then taking the SAT again, give the score you currently have.
