8th semester grades

Does Umich want 8th semester grades for waitlisted applicants or do they only look at fall semester grades?

sorry for the double post, but also if they look at semester grades, do they look at computer classes or only core classes in order to compare waitlisted applicants?

No, they only use 7th semester grades (1st semester senior year) for evaluating waitlisted applicants.

If my 8th semester grades are really good, can I send them in? Will it help my waitlist status?

No. The odds of you getting of the waitlist are completely against you anyways. Take it as a rejection with the one in a million shot that you may be given another chance. Even deferred applicants were told to only send your 7th semester grades, and that nothing else would help your application evaluation. If you want to accept their waitlist offer, that is all they need to know that you will possibly come to their school if they happen to offer an open spot to you.

Yeah but i've heard that Michigan is actually going to be taking some kids off the waitlist this year compared to previous years. So while it's still a crapshoot, it's a better crapshoot.

Ha ha yeah agreed. But regardless everyone one wants to have a better shot, but it's honestly useless and UMich doesn't want/need 100 letters coming in saying PICK ME I WANT YOUR SCHOOL. We were given the slap in the face and we should all move on, and if we get the lucky opportunity and UMich apologizes to us with admission, then hey, great, if not, time to move on and think about transferring there haha.

I hear ya... i'm probably transferring to UM, although i'm not too keen about the idea of stepping on a campus where everyone has already made their cliques, found out who they are going to room off campus with, and basically being a freshman there again. Oh well, maybe i'll just go somewhere else and stay there all 4 years.

I pretty much agree with you guys that everyone needs to move on and explore other options. Just one question though: If I already sent in my 7th semester grades after being deferred, I don't need to send them again right?

Well have you heard a decision yet? It is almost too late now anyways, considering that they aren't offering admission to people anymore, but I would call the admissions office and find out.
