A-G Requirement and Dual Enrollment for UC Application [out-of-state community college]

Hey all,

I’m coming to a close on my application and I realized that in order for me to include the dual enrollment credits that I earned and am planning to earn, they need to be transferable to UC correct? The problem is, I believe that the place that I would find that is through ASSIST, a California program – I’m from Minnesota. I took my dual enrollment (CIS) courses through Minnesota West Community and Technical College. Does this mean that none of the college courses I took are transferable, meaning I have nothing in the “Colleges Attended in High School” section? If this is the case, I’m not sure that I would fulfil the A-G requirement unless I put these dual enrollment courses down as high school courses. Besides these dual enrollment courses, I only took 5 classes total between my junior and senior year that were solely high school courses. Additionally, if these aren’t transferable, and I have to put them in my activities section, it will significantly take away from the many things that I’m able to include; this is because it could be up to 18 courses plus a flight course that does not fit in A-G. In short, what do I do?

Thank you!

You need to try and match the assist.org descriptions of the courses to courses you have taken.

Try to match them the best you can and you are required to report them in the College section even if you do not think they will be transferable. It is up to the UC’s to decide transferability.

You will be required to send a college transcript to the UC you end up attending.

If they 1 or 2 unit classes, then you can list them under non a-g courses under the activities section and not the college section. Just note that they are college courses in the Additional information section under Academics.

I would definitely make sure to use the Additional Information section under Academics to explain. Don’t be apologetic, but take advantage of the characters to supplement the rest of your application.

IMO, the flight course should go in A&A.
