A&M

Hi, I’m a freshman in high school but I’m really worried about college. I want to go to A&M to study near field cosmology.
In my first semester I was admitted into a mental hospital, leaving me not able to take my exams. It only knocked my grades 10 points. I ended up with As and Bs, I think one C.
Now I have straight As for my third report card grades. If I keep getting merely As and Bs (mostly As) could I be accepted?
I have a unweighted GPA of 3.2 (again because I couldn’t take my exams) and I’m 170/564 students.
I do extra curricular activities as well. I’m in Civil Air Patrol and Roller Derby. In school I do NJROTC which leads me to have volunteer service hours. I also do sylvan learning.
I should also mention that I’m in a STEM academy at my high school.
As a sophomore I will be taking AP bio and AP world history along with pre-AP English 2 and pre-AP geometry. As of right now, I’m taking pre-AP physics and pre-AP English/geography.

Do you think if I keep getting As and some Bs, Maybe I can get into A&M university?

Your class rank when you complete your Jr year will have a big impact on whether you get into A&M or not. If you can succeed in being an academic admit (right now, the criteria is top 25% of your class by end of Jr year and 1360 SAT with minimum sub scores) you will get into your major, except engineering, which every applicant undergoes holistic review for readiness for the major.

If you are not an auto admit (top 10%) or academic admit, your chances as a review applicant are only about 13-14% of being offered full admission. Last year, over 45,000 applications were received. 27,000 of those were review applicants. 3800 were offered full admissions. Blinn Team is an admission decision that could be a possibility, as they have now enlarged it by offering a log of classes at the new Rellis campus, other than Blinn at Bryan.

If You are below the top half of your class, you will most likely be offered PSA or denied. Very few 3rd quarter applicants are offered admissions, even to Blinn Team.
