A poll related to gaming.....

The Wii is an underpowered piece os **** and I am only going to get one for SSBB. The line up sucks. Seriously a cooking game how much lamer can the wii even get? You can't go wrong with either a ps3 or 360 , just look at their lineups.

You base your entire statement on one game that you don't like? At least the Wii has more variety than Generic Shooter 1, Generic Shooter 2, and Generic Shooter 3.

yea, because dork game 1 and dork game 2 are so different and interesting arent they?

That sarcasm doesn't work as well if it's not a clearly defined genre

No snipez90, I have played all the top FPS shooters, from my experience, I can honestly say CS is most realistic in recoil, 3D Sound, planning, accuracy, frags, everything. Why do you think CS is still one of the worlds massive online multiplayer games in MLG today.

So, enough with the hostility. I think we can all agree that PS3 and Xbox 360 are pretty even, PS3's superior specs. balance with 360's awesome line-up, and the Wii is geared toward a different audience... like... everyone, whereas PS3 and 360 are geared toward more hardcore gamers.

So, in conclusion, they are all pretty different, but none suck, at least console-wise, because some games, on ALL consoles suck).

I was waiting for the peacemaker to finally seal his presence.

Yea, DeafeningHorn = correct

I think CS is still one of the worlds massive online multiplayer games in MLG today because... people are afraid of change.

The last time I played CS, I saw people hopping around corners firing their Aks like madmen. It's also ultra-realistic in that any weapon not in scope mode is always fired from the hip and all the bullets magically get directed towards the center of the screen because we all run around with crosshairs in real life.

Not to mention, the cone fire in CS is ridiculous. Last time I checked, you can run around forever and not get tired. Also, the environments are so damn restricted and predictable. I mean people throw grenades without even seeing the enemy first.

And for the record, every realistic shooter is realistics in recoil, 3D Sound, planning, accuracy, frags. But what about iron sights, stamina, prone, large environments, unsteadiness when using scope, minimal cone fire, better bullet penetration, leaning, weapon momentum...

CS might be fun to play at LAN parties but off the top of my head I can list some more realistic games/mods:

insurgency (HL2), infiltration (unreal tournament 99), red orchestra (steam), call of duty 4, rainbow six vegas

Past. Infinite_Truth: "Xbox 360 owns the crappy Wii that is for 10 year olds and owns the PS3 that's just a wannabee xbox."

Present. Infinite_Truth: "Yea, DeafeningHorn = correct"

Haha, can I recall hypocrisy?

Infiltration:
dslyecxi.com - enjoy your stay

Red Orchestra:
YouTube - Red Orchestra - Trailer

Operation Flashpoint is another one.

Screw HL2, Screw Unreal tournament, Screw COD4, Screw Rainbow six Vegas

Evidently you have NOT played CS: Source.

Source engine, you get high-resolution textures, detailed character models, realistic physics, bullet penetration, leaning, weapon momentum, dynamic weapon pricing, real enviorments, added skins, enhanced radar display, the source engine simply is the monarch of all FPS shooters.

Snipez: "And for the record, every realistic shooter is realistics in recoil, 3D Sound, planning, accuracy, frags"
Don't be idealistic...every? haha

Basically...if you just want great games and an enhanced online play...360
If you want blu-ray, free-online and the other little extras....ps3
If you want cheap, fun, and more kid friendly...wii.

Personally, I have a PS3 and am perfectly happy with it.

Take it back.

Evidently you have NOT played CS: Source.

[/quote]

CS:S is hardly the most realistic shooter to be found. Even from the start of the game, it's not realistic. What cop/military man buys his own guns? None. It's a great game, and arguably one of the best shooters, but it is still a long way from realistic. But it doesn't need to be. CS was never intended to be realistic; it was intended to be fun. And it is.

I have played it, in fact I bought HL2 two years ago. Evidently you do not realize that the source engine spawned FROM Half Life 2. And if you even bothered to download Insurgency or have actually played any of the games I mentioned, you might be able to argue realism.

Evidently, you also don't know that Half Life 2 makes much fuller use of the source engine than CS: Source. All CS:S is just a better looking CS 1.6. So your argument without comparison based solely on how great the source engine is overlooks the fact that CS hardly makes use of the awesome physics engine and is still the same boring jump around the corner and fire bullets with random distribution with reflexes that probably can't compare to the numerous 14-year old half wits that comprises most of the CS community after moving your crosshairs (oh did I mention that crosshairs aren't realistic?) over to the other crazy bunny-hopping, random nade tossing, idiot.

But hey after playing for about a month I realized I could pull off headshots easier and that my "K/D" ratio wasn't that bad and then I realized wow this is it, that's all the depth there is to counter-strike, so I left the community.

There really is no point to arguing this further. If you ever get tired of testing your reflexes against others who did it ever since CS started back in the good ol' half life days, let me know and I can show you a world outside of CS :P.

i will school all of you on dust. I PLAY HOTEL CALIFORNIA. I AM LITHIUM | EMPTY. I AM A REGULAR. I FEAR NOTHING.

HandYandy, my point exactly. I didn't like most of the community that much to begin with but it can be fun at LAN parties playing with people you know.

But in the end, I think most of us can agree that shooters are best left up to the PC, and to a certain extent, the xbox 360.

I have my old N64 and that's all I need.

Are you n00bs kidding me? CS is NOT realistic. Frankly the fact that you can buy guns in the heat of the moment and all that other crap makes it so that its very far from being realistic.

But frankly, realistic doesnt matter in how good a shooter is. I dont like uber-realistic shooters, because then you know what? One shot and your dead, which makes for a very boring and crappy game that has no fun value whatsoever.

CS: Source is a pwnage game in my opinion however. Halo 2/Halo 3 ranks very close however, because the Halo's have more of that 'epic super-battle' feel, which sometimes brings a nice change in game-scenery.
