a post for all of us Early Decisions

firewalker...where do you live?

i live in Sterling, Virginia. its an exurb of D.C
Loudoun County is my county, its quite affluent, and the 2nd fastest growing county in the U.S

its basically in the general NOVA area (which is widely known for its excellent school system)

is there anyway you could know how many people applied early to stern?

Hey firewalker, when did you get that Financial Aid brochure? Do you remember?

Has anyone tried to see if they had a NetID lately?

I think someone on this thread said that they didn't start the NetIDs until February or March.

I applied ed to tisch and was able to get a NetID even though I haven't gotten a letter, does this mean anything???

Did you do a summer program?

yeah, but I never got a NetID or anything

the only way you could have a NetID is if you did the summer program because every1 gets their ID thing in February I think w/ RDers

hmm, maybe I got one this summer and never knew. IDK. oh well

So you were in the summer program? then yah they made you one supposedly

yeah, I was in the summer film program

I mean, I'm applying as a transfer so I dunno, but I was just able to access one and I was never in the summer program, so I'm wondering if that's a good sign.

Wow you never did a summer program and were able to access your mail? Are you applying as a transfer for this spring...or next fall?

Sternies...they do defer to GSP! Heres the proof from NYU Forums by the adcom guy

"Hello, and thank you for your post. Students who apply to the Stern School of Business may be placed into the General Studies Program. However, that being said, it is also important to realize that these spaces in the Stern School are highly competitive and a student has to have a clear business focus in mind.
While a student who applies to the Stern School of Business may be placed into the General Studies Program, most students in the General Studies Program tend to come from applicants who applied directly to the College of Arts and Science. The reason for this is that the General Studies Program follows a liberal arts curriculum, while students in the Stern School of Business complete a rigorous undergraduate Business degree. Since students in the Stern School of Business begin taking business courses in their first semester, it would be more difficult for those students to complete all of the business requirements needed for their major in two years (after completing the manditory two years of liberal arts requirements in the General Studies Program). Just remember that each application at NYU is given a "wholistic review," and each student's academic and personal strenghts are evaluated to determine if he or she would be an appropriate match for each one of our programs of study.

I hope that this helps, and best of luck!"

This spring... and I'm getting really nervous about it because my HS counselor didn't send in my transcript on time. I checked the NetID thing the other day and it came back with nothing, but then I just tried it again a bit ago and it gave me an ID.

thats weird..how does the NetID thing work? Do you make 1 or what? explain..i want to try

parikhs: What date was this posted up?
