a post for all of us Early Decisions

I got into CAS! I only received 3,000 dollars of financial aid, though. Darnit! Here's to many loans!

By the way, for those keeping track, I'm from West Chester, Pennsylvania, which is about two and a half hours from NYC.

Anyone from Tisch?

Im Goin To Stern!

congrats to all of u...i've basically lost hope...im starting to believe that all acceptances hear first then those rejected later...got mail today but nothing from NYU :(

parikhs, I am rooting for you!

hang in there parikhs!

ssarkar...ur soo lucky to get into Stern .. err thats my dream :( my stats are nowhere near it though..just hopign the adcom saw something in my APP that they liked...but I doubt it cuz they would've put me into GSP :-</p>

I should've heard by now! I live 15 min from the city!!!!!!!

I just hope they send them out in batches of a 100 and not all at once...like all acceptances at once and all rejections later

This is torture. Plain and simple. I open the mail today and I get a Student News from NYU.

I'm from MA.

ok so i STILL haven't gotten anything. I'm going crazy

Congrats to all of those accepted!

This is becoming stressful and depressing! It's evident that acceptances letters are sent in different waves from rejections. I live 45mins..I've lost hope!

Hey guys, don't lose hope... I live in Westchester, NY, 1 hour drive from the city, and I still have not received my acceptance/rejection letter... a letter usually takes 2 days to be sent/received by mail from my address to Manhattan (so if sent on Monday, I should have received it today).

I applied to NYU (Steinhardt) because it was the most competitive university I could find that had a great location and a good music program.

On November 11th, I received a letter from NYU that, according to the NYU FAQ, confirmed that I had "met the academic requirements" for NYU university (I had expect such, as statistically my overall grades, SAT scores, and involvement/talent exceeds the average of NYU students). However, it continued to say that once the audition report was received, they would reevaluate my academic component and audition component and make a final decision. My audition DVD is VERY strong, and I would be surprised if they did not accept me to Steinhardt, and extremely surprised if they didn't at least put me in CAS, as I have already received a letter from them that I meet the academic requirements.

I've spoken with NYU a few weeks ago, both to the admissions office and the music department, and they both said that my audition report was completed and everything was on track, that I should expect to receive a letter by December 15th.

People on these forums are not going to mention if they were rejected. Letters are being sent in batches, and I doubt demographically because there is already someone from my school who received her acceptance letter today. It could be just in the random order that they processed them.

Be patient everyone and hang in there; it is not December 15th just yet.

I live in Idaho, does anyone think it's possible I could still get my letter this week?

"I would be surprised if they did not accept me to Steinhardt, and extremely surprised if they didn't at least put me in CAS, as I have already received a letter from them that I meet the academic requirements."

Do you mean GSP ? If you get rejected from Steinhardt, they would never put you in CAS (that never happens, as an aside CAS people have better academic stats than those in Steinhardt).

Also, I think if you were invited into GSP, you would have heard by now since there is a GSP orientation on Dec 19th.

HTH.

NEONecd999: I know someone that got in today from Westchester, it isn't by any chance a Jacklynn?

"I live in Idaho, does anyone think it's possible I could still get my letter this week?"

Absolutley.

Heh, I actually do know Jaclyn, she is from my school, I know she applied early decision to NYU. Congrats to her, she's a very strong student and I know she's involved in many different things.

Thanks for that info on GSP ABirch. I'll start seriously worrying after tomorrow.

Hey I live in california. Anyone think I have a chance of hearing by tomorrow or friday?

with the rate the letters are pouring in - I'd say no.

But don't worry, we're all in the same boat. In virginia, were supposed to get this massive ice storm tommorow, it's supposed to be terrible. So not only will I be sitting at home waiting for the mail to come and worrying all day, I'll be worrying if the mail will even COME to my house at all tommorow. I'm from a small town, and things run a little slower here than most places. Watch the mail not even come. I'm in agony.

I'm in the same situation. I live in Idaho, I really just want to hear by Friday.
