a post for all of us Early Decisions

DramaQUeen...im in northern VA right outsied of DC. I got an acceptance letter to Tisch today! So you should be getting something soon. But yeah with the storm...it might be delayed!

i just got my letter today, tisch, film and television...ACCEPTED

ld10lmp - Congrats.

Seems like there's a lot of opinions floating around. Would it be logical to assume that most haven't gotten their letters yet or perhaps the rejection are just sent after? Clearing this up would likely rid a lot of us of a lot of angst.

hmmm...reading all this dismays me. I have what's equivalent to an 1100 on my Sats, and a 600 on SATII Lit; enough EC's, nothing where i began a company or website. I'd like to think my short answers and essays were honest and completely away from how or why i didn't do so hot on my Sats. My GPA is 3.9. and looking at all of this i'm beginning to think i was out of my mind when i applies to CAS NYU early decision. yikes

and i suppose being a minority and completely poor doesn't help either

yea, i had 2020/1270 sat's, 3.4 uw, 4.1 w, lots of EC's, awards, plus an amazing hook.

i think my biggest hit was that i mentioned sandra cisneros and woolf in my essay. haha and that was subliminal. my short answers were about days i read dostoyevsky and did the cultural thing. my ECs were maybe 5 regular clubs and I work at barnes and noble so that took most of my time. And i volunteered with some autistic kids

my biggest was my dramatization and portfolio, obv, my stats were low

Noone is going to post if they got rejected. They have no need to even come to this website if they got rejected... only those who got accepted would come and post to share their excitement. Don't jump to conclusions about acceptances first, rejection later.

lol. i didnt expect so many NOVAers to apply to NYU

wow

but then again, NOVA is very global so i can see why so many applied to NYU

Neon, not necessarily true. In past years, the people who have been on the forum prior to decisions coming out and who have been rejected, HAVE posted it when they get their letters. Also in past years, it's been the pattern that the letters go out in this order: gsp, acceptances, rejections, regardless of what the admissions office says.

Just wondering, why did you do your audition by dvd and not in person? Or is that how the music dept. does it? Because I know that Steinhardt musical theater and Tisch don't like you doing a video audition and strongly recommend that you do it in person.

"lol. i didnt expect so many NOVAers to apply to NYU"

HA, I'm from Connecticut and I have 2 NOVA roommates at NYU. I represent Fairfield County and they represent Fairfax County.

woot woot!! ffx county represent!! The Real FC right here! haha! Richest county in America!

Actually, the richest county in America honors go to Teton County in Wyoming.

http://www.billingsgazette.com/index.php?id=1&display=rednews/2004/04/18/build/wyoming/40-teton-wealth.inc

Though Fairfield and Fairfax are not exactly what you call average. Other rich counties include Bergen & Morris in NJ, and Westchester in NY.

Nothing today. I'm convinced rejections come later. There's nothing to it.

That articel is dated April 2004! There was a huge news story when it came out! I don't know who ran the stats and stuff, but the local news had a story about fairfax being the richest county. I mean I don't care too much...it just means I go to school with a lot of not so nice, stuck up brats...but whatever!!

Way to stereotype, theatreguy.

im not sterotyping! Come to my school for a day and you tell me thats not how these kids are!!!

"it just means I go to school with a lot of not so nice, stuck up brats...but whatever!!"

Lol, if you're looking to for a place with zero stuck up brats, NYU being one of the most expensive colleges in the country is probably not the right place to look.

My roommates from Fairfax Co, Virginia are actaully really cool, nice and down to earth. Then again, I from Fairfield Co, CT and did the boarding school thing--so perhaps I'm a "stuck up brat" as well and just don't notice...haha. Who knows and who cares? You'll find cool and not so cool people anywhere you go.
