AA transfer to FSU req. problem

I'm looking to transfer into the Foreign Language program at FSU in Spring of 2012. I will be earning my AA at the end of Fall 2011 from St. Petersburg College with a GPA of 3.24. My main dilemma is that I do not have the 2 year foreign language requirement. I know that most public Florida schools (minus UF) have to accept you with an AA degree but I do not know if any exceptions apply to the foreign language requirement.

I talked to USF and they said that you DO NOT need the foreign language to come in, just the AA degree...

I've spoken with the advisors and I am getting mixed answers. Does anyone have any experience with this certain problem?

Thank you.

You have to go directly to FSU about this one. Speak with the people in the department that you want to enroll in, as well as the general admissions office. You might find out that you have automatic admission to FSU, but that you will need to spend a semester in “general studies” or the like, before becoming an official student of the Foreign Language program.

Thank you,

I am currently waiting to get back in touch with them. I got some basic information but I need to call again this week. They said I could be an exploratory student (non degree seeking junior) but I’m not sure if I would need the foreign language req. to even get accepted as that.
