I know this question has been asked a lot, but what exactly would be considered a safe zone grades-wise for a second semester senior? I’ve committed to Brown but my grades aren’t so hot this semester; I’ve dropped from virtually straight As since 2nd semester sophomore year down to 3As, 4Bs, one of which may become a C. Would I get rescinded? Or am I still in the clear?
College admission letters may indicate what conditions on grades/GPA you have to maintain through the rest of 12th grade.
The obviously safe zone is keeping the same schedule as previously reported, maintaining your GPA at least as high as previously with no D or F grades, and meeting any other conditions specified in the admission letter. Many 12th graders do let their grades drop somewhat, and many colleges are vague about how much drop is allowed before they rescind admission.
It has been said on CC many times that you need to avoid Ds, Fs and felonies.
M kids worked to keep up at least a B average in all their classes just to be sure there wound be no issues. One C should be OK, but if you can keep it at a B that would be preferable.
