They said get a rec. letter from "academic" subject teacher.
Is geography teacher okay?

yes. 10 char

Hey I was wondering whether a language teacher who doesn't (technically) teach me because I am exempted from her class but who knows me really, really well would be ok?

The person doesn't have to be your teacher currently. If you had him/her in previous years and still know him/her really well, that would be fine.

My guidance counselor informed me about the "academic" part after I had already asked my band teacher of three years for a rec. Is it ok that I am now sending three recs (english, history, and band teacher)?

It should be OK, just make sure the Eng and Hist teachers are sent in as the required 2 academic LORs and the band teacher as a supplemental.

no actually... she never really taught me (because she taught my native language, and so I didn't really have to take her classes)

so...would that be ok?

thx so much.

funkygurl: I think she can give you an EXTRA recommendation, but, check with your schools, I recall most of my colleges, on their websites, specifically saying "TAUGHT you in blah blah blah."
